You can use something like speedtest.net to check your throughput, ping, and jitter. Other than that, just make sure your PS4/PC is as “close” to the internet as possible (cable not wifi, DMZ if it’s a hardened PC or a PS4, etc).
on the bright side, maining a low tier character means it can only get better come balance patching! I think she’s fun, never actually dabbled with grapplers cause i disliked the slow approach but she is pretty nippy. albeit is terrible under pressure.
Early tier lists don’t mean much when people are still finding new tech almost daily, this isn’t SFIV where you lose at the vs screen while choosing the wrong character at high level play. Pick who you want to play, Mika and Laura are ‘bottom tier’ yet Japanese pros say Mika is strong and a Laura player just won Cannes Winter Clash 2016.
Mika isn’t low tier, she’s somewhere in the middle. Trust me, if you have any decent footsies and fundamentals you can wreck people with her. You just have to work extra hard, that’s always the case with lower tier characters. Her corner reset game alone is dangerous enough. You just have to be patient and get a knockdown, which really isn’t that hard.
This is R. Mika in a nutshell.
Her neutral/footsies game is maybe only B- or C+, so to speak. Her in-your-face pressure game, though (either after bullying into point blank or getting a knockdown or reset opportunity) is A+. You have to be patient and fight through her weaknesses in order to apply her strengths.
That said, her V-Skill (Skill, not Trigger) is F-…
Thanks for all the answers I got in regards to my question about Mika’s V-skill. In regards to if Mika is good or not or where she sits in the tier list… I think Mika is good, but with that being said, I do feel that everyone is viable and that the game is pretty balanced right now, with the exception of maybe Bison and possibly Dhalsim, whom are really good at the moment imo.
I started playing with Ken after release and wasn’t doing good at all… like hovering around 150-300lp, actually had like 140 when I started playing with Ken the day I switched to Mika. I lost a few matches when I first signed on that day and when I switched to Mika and got used to her a bit I had like 49lp. That being said I am rapidly closing in on Ultra Bronze so Mika has served me well. I really enjoy her.
Mika’s corner game is terrifying.
This is about my opinion as well. Although, in all honesty I think Dhalsim will ‘come back down to earth’ once people are more comfortable with the system as a whole and people start learning their match up tech against him.
Hey I just recently picked up R.Mika (I main Cammy) and was wondering who are the best Mika players to look out for on youtube and during tournaments? I’m sure many are mentioned in this thread, but it’s pretty long now haha.
I know Marn is using her, but 1, it’s Marn, and 2, he’s in .vn at the moment. He’s MarnHQ on CFN. Apparently Fuudo is using her too. After that, there are a few names to pick out of the video thread like Hokage. Mt. Flowers also posts high-level videos.
- Fuudo (there is some footage on the Daigo stream archive of him playing against Nuki for example, but there are also some YouTube videos of his online matches)
- Hameko (same as Fuudo)
- Marn (he started playing her a week ago or so, he basically streams every day at the moment and it seems like he is getting better quickly. I watch it sometimes, some good stuff you can learn from him)
- Gootecks (made 5th place in the Cannes tournament, don’t know if he streams)
- Native Impact (he also attends tournaments)
Fuudo and Hameko are definitely the best Mika Players I’ve seen so far. I don’t know about Fuudo, but you can follow Hameko and Native Impact on Twitter to get the latest news about R. Mika tech.
There are also some good Mika Players in the top 100 of the leaderboards. But be careful, there is one French Mika Player (he was the “best” Mika in this list) who is a ragequitter. Can’t remember his name (Efl-Claw something?) but there should be enough other Mika players we can learn from.
We have a Dark Hokage fanclub going aswell. Tbh there are quite a few really good Mika players on these forums. Some are top ranked players and others are doing there thing at tournaments or posting tech videos. I’m not one of them, just to be clear lol.
Thanks guys I’ll check out some of those players, Mika is pretty fun!
Anyone have a link to Native Impact’s twitter or youtube?
Don’t know about YouTube but you can find his twitter account here: https://twitter.com/AGNativeimpact?lang=de
Dark Hokage sounds like a scrub name.
R Mika’s V skill is great b/c if you use it right you get V meter from ranged against people who like to zone from range, and you can use the meter to get in or counter from full screen.
Hameko best R Mika
Most of the people I’ve seen play her are so bad, as are most people who play this game anyway.
So, the game’s been out for a while now, and I assume people have come up with some decent strategies for powering through Survival mode. Any tips for someone who wants to finish getting colors and some fight money?
Right now my only real strategy is using Double Down frequently on the first 10 stages so that I have plenty of points to spend later, plus keeping fight request on with confirmation so that I can bail sometimes when things go south. When it comes to actual match strategy with Mika, what is the CPU most susceptible to, especially at higher levels?
Real burst of positivity there
Her VS is fine against ranged, but has limited utility against non-zoners.
I like Fuudo’s Mika too.
Gonna put that vid to work right now
followup: omg -- got to 40+ but the system decided I wanted 4 low health ups in a row -- Survival blows.
