Yeah, I’ve learned it’s not the CPU that kill me, it’s the RNG supplements. Last time I tried I got to 41 then encountered the following:
2 lows, 1 medium, 1 low, dead.
Well we can’t all be as great as you. Assuming you are good or even play this game. Why not share some of your matches or replays and show us how she should be played? Sharing is caring.
Fuudo’s Mika makes some weird decisions, he keeps using s. mp link to s. lk s. mp target combo at ranges where he could link to irish whip instead for more damage and usually better positioning too. He does it ALOT too, to where I wonder what he’s thinking. I’m sure he knows he could do it, so he’s intentionally selecting the s. lk target combo instead. I haven’t figured out why.
Never thought I’d ever pick up a grappler but, Mika’s seemed really easy to learn from the get-go. I’m having a lot of fun playing the character, so far.
One thing I really need to work on is reacting properly on a charged s.hk. I was playing some earlier and I completely wiffed it when I landed them as crush counters. So much damage that I’m missing. That’s the next thing I need to take to training mode.
I’m getting close to silver but I need to improve on this, and maybe explore the other characters block string / punish opportunities as I mess these up a lot. I always fall for the frame traps from Nash.
I miss a specific thread which we can plan challenging Shoryuken users (specially Mika players). How about we share on this page our ID from Steam/PSN to face each other online? Even if we are in far away countries around the world, we should try it out.
If someone is excited to play online, let me know.
My SF id is PrismaticStar (PSN id is Raccon_it), btw.
PS: I’m currently living in Brazil. I’ve been playing against some Americans last days and got no lag though.
I would really appreciate an FAQ thread. I’ve been trying to compile one for awhile but just haven’t had enough time. There is a lot of pretty easy to answer questions that get answered a lot. V-Skill uses, how to tic throw, wake up game, etc are some other things we probably should add.
I know them feels… I’m floating in the 1500-2000 range, unable to break out. I think I need to start my SF5 sessions with some training mode drills rather than just fighting some casual matches. I need to work on proper technique. It’s my biggest weakness. The number of passion rope throws I miss the back dash c.hk on is embarrassing -_-
I need to do some serious drills on these things so they become muscle memory. At least I don’t try to throw out hadoukens anymore haha XD
My usual routine is training mode for basic drills (simple combos and strings), then I turn on fight-request and move into combo/cc/gimmick drills. The idea being that if nothing else, I have Mika’s metronome running in my head by the time I face a human.
This is nearly where im at. Though I seem to be stuck 500 points lower. I swear its like the fight channel is sending just the thing to make me lose on purpose. But on the other hand this too is the trials we gotta over come right to get strong right? Just cuz we don’t see any gains in points doesn’t mean we aren’t getting stronger for it. Just gotta be sure you keep reviewing and keep self aware of your weaknesses. Seems like you know what yours are. We’ll get through it!
I think it helps to watch higher level play. Flowers and DarkHokage are a great part of this community because I can chat and interact with them. idk why but it makes their videos better to me than just searching high rank videos. Maybe because I know they are real people, I feel I can really do it too haha
Does anyone else watch high level videos and feel it helps them play better?
For me its a requirement. Your brain can only understand how to evolve if you show it what evolution looks like. If it watches nothing but lower levels you can’t push through it to grasp higher level play because your in stagnation.
Also I totally agree with you on the more personal videos being better. Some people read emotion and if you know the person better you can synch to their decisions better and mimic them better to understand how to reach your own version of it.
This is why watching high-level play is important - you also, though, need to understand the “why” of things and that’s where forums like this come in handy.
