how does one do this?
Iām feeling like this too. The throw damage increase feels like the right payoff, but the skill itself seems really difficult to safely use. Maybe weāre just missing some crucial technologyā¦
They just need to speed up the whiff animation. As it stands you can barely tap it without every character being able to get across the screen and punish. Its either that or use it after Passion throw and lose guaranteed damage for possible future damage.
There some good times to use the skill. Here is when I use it mostly.

[] After a Typhoon Throw - You lose some positioning. But Iāve realized this sorta puts fear in people that whenever Iām in range of a command grab they will ALWAYS just leading to free pressure. To be honest I usually never grab anyone after this point again, the fear of the grab is worth more (IMO)
[] During a Stun - This can lead to free extra damage since you can combo off the the mic hit into something ending in Wingless or Super
[] Full screen away during a fireball - This just gets the opponent to come to me so I donāt have to chase them.
[] During a knockdown in the corner - Probably part gimmick, but during the corner blender if I get a knockdown that they donāt tech from, Iāll back up (out of throw range) and charge the mic. This will usually result in someone getting up with DP, which you can soak the hit and they call on the mic into combo. They will try to walk up to you can grab you and get hit with the mic. Or they will probably jump which you can snag with a Wingless + plus the mic buff.

I just use V-Skill to absorb a full screen fireball and gain V Meter honestly
Sorry if this has been covered already, but Iām not going to read 45 pages just to see lol⦠Mikaās V-skill powers up her next command grab and the amount of power-up it gets depends on how long you continue to hold her V-skill, I can visually see the next āstageā of power-up as Iām holding it⦠everyone knows that.
My questions are:
Does that buff stay until her next command grab no matter what or if she gets hit will she lose it or is there a time limit for the buff?
Also if she loses it if she gets hit is it all moves that make her lose it or only certain ones?
And does her regular throw, lp+lk, get powered up, too?
Just want to say thanks in advance to anyone who can clarify this for me. Iām going to test it when I get home if nobody knows for sure and I can post the results on here if there are other people that are curious exactly how her V-Skill works.

If she gets hit and put into hitstun (while not under armor properties), she will lose her buff. IIRC, thereās no time limit at the moment.

Also if she loses it if she gets hit is it all moves that make her lose it or only certain ones?
Yep, again, if she gets placed under hitstun with any move, she will lose it.

And does her regular throw, lp+lk, get powered up, too?
Heck yeah, you can even do 1170 damage with her regular throw if the buff is fully charged.
Iāve seen a few Mika players do wakeup EX.airplane to escape pressure on wakeup? Does it actually have any strike invulnerability on startup or are the opponents just mistiming meaties?
theyāre mistiming. Mikaās wake-up options are awful. (tbh, if that had I-frames on start up itād be broken)

Yea they are. But I wonder if JC (jump canceling) will remedy it. Iām pretty sure JC is probably in this game as well

Invincible on frame 5, if they donāt meaty correctly then yeah itās good

Can you elaborate?
Jump cancel is in the game yes, but the only reason to do it is if they meaty throw and you have to KNOW they will throw otherwise you are eating a meaty normal, also apparently there is only 2f window to input a JC special on SFV making it even riskier. I personally donāt think JC ex.peach will ever be viable, I guess the sad state is Mika has pretty poor wakeup, kinda similar to Abel on SF4 but as far as I know has literally no way to blow up meaty throw outside of said JC.
Haha I lived the dream today. Got to charge up V-skill to the max and got such a good laugh by doing a perfect K.O. with a single throw. I think my opponent wanted to hear her whole speech
Havent bought the game yet, but everyone Iāve talked to says Mika really sucks. Makes me wonder if I should bother with her
I honestly think she is low tier but on the bright side the tiers on SFV all seem to be pretty compacted so all the characters are viable atm and you can win with anyone really. Not sure how the game will develop in the future though.
When it comes to fighting games, sometimes you have to take a lower tier character in the spirit of the character.
Sure, Mika is low tier. If you donāt like playing low tier characters, she might not agree with you.
I like playing lower tier characters. It gives me a greater sense of accomplishment when I win (and gives me an excuse if I lose haha)
Oh well, I was just hoping she would actually be good in this game considering she was absolutely Shit-Tier in Alpha 3. Maybe next time.

I reckon sheās much more usable than she was in alpha. She has damage and a gameplan at least.
Is there a way to find out how many bars your internet connection has? Because I do so bad with laggy matches and Ive been getting alot of them consistently even with a 5 bar search so I was wondering if it was on my endā¦
