I can’t stand you negative nancys. Can you imagine R. Mika beating herself up for losing? I can’t.
Typically in these SF games, Capcom gives every character the tools they need to be able to defeat any other character. Sure some tools are a bit better than others but all tools are viable. Its up to us to get good with those tools and to learn how and when to use them.
I do feel for you guys who are having a really hard time right now but just bare in mind that the game only just came out this week and alot of people played the beta and others are longtime fighting game veterans.
Eventually you will get good. Everyone is trying to step up their game. Even the pros constantly try to inprove their game. Beating yourself up won’t achieve anything. You might do better with another character initially or you might become a scary Mika player in time if you stick it out. Now go flex that muscle spirit!

I agree that you cant hit confirm raw f-MP ~ f-MP (rope throw). The only way you can really hit confirm is from a MP hit. To be honest if you could throw out rope throw without the punish on block we have now, it would be broken.
I think st mp is her best close range tool. it’s -2 on block and has a good hitbox. I think it pushes her forward a little as well. Another thing with her mp is that in the tc it’s unsafe. So what I like to do is hit lk pause briefly and hit st mp so I’m safe. You can’t tell the difference
Its -5 if you do the target combo and they block it…
Standalone MP is -2.
What you have to do is delay st.LK to st.MP, so that the TC doesn’t come out unless you’re far away/cannot be punished by said character.

No you can’t link lk into mp. I think what is meant there is that instead of tc which is more unsafe after the mp, you do lk and after it mp. You can recover quicker from each of them then if you tc it.
Millage may vary on that one though, as a jab can stuff your mp if they throw it out there. I guess it depends on how the fight is conditioned. If you have been lk tick throwing and they go for jump to avoid throw then your mp will get damage as their block recovers and they jump, where the tc would keep them grounded.
Yeah, treat her st MP like gief’s, but with less range. You’re almost within range of her command throws if you hit with the tip of it.
If you need to move forward while keeping a hitbox out, be sure to try out her st. MK. Specifically her f + st. MK. It works kinda like Elena’s f/bk + HK in 3s/4 where if you press forward + MK she moves forward as she’s doing it. She doesn’t have a back moving version of it but since you’re Mika and you generally want to get in rather than get out, that might be a good idea. Don’t know the framedata on it, haven’t been punished with it on block yet - anyone know?
Also, I’ve noticed you can sometimes use her wakeup qcf + K to get yourself out of the corner. They could probably read it and punish you but for people who aren’t expecting it if they’re trying to start their okizeme it’s one way to get out. I think the EX version has less recovery too.
flash metroid and i do it all the time… the timing is tight but it can be done… i go in training mode and set the dummy to random… thats i got proficient at confirming it… i also suggest trying it in survival so you can “feel” it in a match
