Maybe this has been discussed already but how many of you guys pseudo-kara her command throws? 632146+button. Or half circle back, slight step forward, button. Definitely a nice extension of her throw range.
Fuudo and Hameko main Mika and they had some pretty nice matches on Daigo’s stream today, hope it gets uploaded to Youtube.
might be old but havnt tested mika till recently, they made it so you can now combo after j.2mp. So now you can set up delay neutral nadeshiko into j.2mp then combo into Ex of your choice for almost 300 damage.
After plenty of matches online, I have to say hit confirming s.mp into irish whip is very, very crucial to mika’s gameplan. It’s not that difficult as I once thought also.

Great R Mika tech on Daigo’s stream last night. Not sure if it was Fuudo or Hameko that showed it, but after a brimstone throw he did a dash forward s.lp (whiff) neutral jump which appeared to be a safe jump option on normal wake up. I was able to use this a few times last night, seems legit. I don’t understand Japanese, so I am not sure about the first part of tech discussed regarding if they quick rise, you get a free dash forward brimestone again. This is demonstrated at about the 1min 30sec mark of the video linked below and explained later in training mode. Fuudo will be maining Mika it appears (for the time being) and that should result in some quality tech.

Game’s still young but how would y’all compare her versus Zangief? Capcom likes pairing her up with Zangief but I wonder if they pretty much have similar gameplans or if Mika’s is more footsie oriented or more “hit the guy with shit but occasional do command throws” oriented.
Also, is there a difference between her two command throws? Is it simply the positions you end up with after they hit or does one do more damage than the other? Do I end up at + with one compared to the other?
Brimstone puts them close to you, in front of you, but it has bad range and damage.
Rainbow Typhoon is the opposite. Sends them far, behind you, but amazing range and damage.
R Mika’s somewhat combo based with some dirty mobility tools. Gief is more about the mid-range mindgames, he wants to land that SPD/V Trigger and otherwise just walk at you. R Mika is less about that mid-range game and she just just wants to land a drop kick, jump in, or something else dirty.
That and Gief’s threatening range is a lot more constant. R.Mika’s attack vectors are all over the place making her a bit more agile than Zangief. She is much less of a moving wall and more of fighter jet. I’d say that Zangief and R.Mika are equally mind gamey, though. Similar to the difference in how they threaten, Zangief is more about a constant pressure of a handful of things, while R.Mika’s is more of a conditioned one and requires you to finesse an opponent to fearing a specific thing out of your wide variety.
Does Mika always get a free command grab after someone blocks her butt attack? No matter what I try, Mika players always nab me with a throw and It’s starting to get annoying.
Normal peach is highly punishable. Even lp version leaves you at -7 so a medium hit can punish.
I wanted to get your perspective of Mika’s V.Skill. Is it criminally unused or something? I remember first seeing Combofiend use it at as much as he possibly could but now, people are barely using it, even from full screen. I think people forget the fact that they should probably take the initiative to stop Mika from using her V.Skill out of fear of being thrown for ridiculous damage but I don’t know. What do you guys think?
Depends on when it hits. Point blank it’s unsafe but when spaced they can be as safe as Lp -2, Mp -3, Hp 0. Example if they combo into mp peach and immediately Hp peach if you quickrise and she is -2 if not better. Or if they space it out slightly past max full charge HK range it’s usually safe.
I think its best used when against footsie characters that heavily out range Mika. And when I saw use, I mean just tap it and then stop. Any longer than that and you’re begging to be punished. But the constant tapping gives you V-meter and powers up your throws slightly, while also making your opponents comes to you. It makes them do the work for you. I haven’t fully utilized it that way so I can’t say its a 100% viable but that’s the best way I can see using it.
Yeah, the Mic should only be used to gradually fill the V-Gauge and to force the opponent to come to you. It’s nice that it has the chance to power up her throws if the buttons are held long enough, but it’s best to not even think about that.

My god, I never knew frame-trapping with f.hp was so much fun. The potential, the damage, the chime of that bell. So very satisfying.
Is it just a chance? I tapped V-skill so she tossed the mic ASAP and HP Typhoon damage went up from 180 to 220+ (can’t remember exact figures). I’ll have to do more extensive testing when I get home
