R.I.P. Philip Seymour Hoffman

Guy was not a big movie star, but he was a great supporting actor.
It is thought to be a drug overdose

R.I.P. very talented actor

He was a great, if underappreciated actor.

R.I.P.

Wow tragic loss :frowning:

I gotta disagree slightly, man. He may not have gotten the big headlines like Depp or Pitt or Clooney or whoever, but he did some great work. Won Best Actor for Capote and has been nominated several times. Dude was one of the greats in my book.

He will be missed.

:wtf:…

So unexpected, wow. Dude had more versatility and nuance than 95% of actors currently alive. Huge fan of a lot of his work.

46! He was a brilliant actor. R.I.P

Wow. 2014 is going in on celebs already… RIP to a talented actor.

Why can’t it be Beiber or Cyrus instead of someone actually talented?

Dude was a beast in Mission Impossible 3.

Woah. This came out of nowhere. R.I.P.

Never knew what sharted was until this.

Yeah, this is really unexpected. So sad. R.I.P.

It feels creepy now that one of my favorite roles from him was in Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, where he was secretly a heroin addict. Don’t know if I’ll be able to re-watch that.

I’m shocked, he was my favorite actor…

RIP Mr. Hoffman.

I’ll admit, I only recognized this guy 'cause of Hunger Games. Didn’t even know he’d won an Oscar before.

apparently he died of a drug overdose, possibly heroin.

Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead was a great film. R.I.P.

My favorite actor was Richard Burton.

Now that’s acting!
Take notes Philip.

My thoughts exactly, I instantly thought of the scene where he’s high on heroin and talking to the gay prostitute about how fucked up his life is.

He really was one of the very best actors around, he really threw himself into his roles while maintaining a level of subtlety that is foreign to most young actors =/.

Exactly. He was a chameleon. One of the few actors in his age group who could completely submerge his ego and disappear into any role he played.

Great actor. :shake:
