Your concerns about the attendance to finals, as well as the player’s actions have all been covered many times now by the community. Again and again, and now even yet again, we recognize the mistakes that occured by all of those involved (the AC/slash issues were a major factor in the low turnout, among other things, as discussed many times…) It has been expressed more times that I can count that the community will not allow these things to occur again, how long must those events be brought up, honestly?

There’s several thousand dollars on the line and an opportunity to watch two parts of the world go at each other in your game, and you end up ruining both? It would have been one thing with finalists not showing up on time, because then the community wouldn’t have looked as bad, but when the community isn’t there ALONG with said placing finalists, then that’s just a huge step backwards.

I mean seriously, it’s fucking fantastic you guys have been pushing hype since then, and the numbers for Final Round are crazy, but what happened at Evo World shouldn’t have happened to begin with on both accounts. That’s the one bloody chance you get all year to do your thing, don’t go fucking that up. That’s basically telling the folks at Evo, hey, this is what we think of you ever having given us the opportunity to begin with.

Yeah, and the exercise is good for you. However, I’m not sure this kind of snub to Evo is the right thing to do. But I do think that if we just have a big enough side tourney, we WILL get noticed. Let’s run the biggest damn tourney there! We can get double CvS2’s numbers, right? We’re surely bigger than Tekken. I bet that if we tried we could beat Marvel, in hype and numbers. Our game is surely more deserving than Smash, right? And maybe, just maybe, if half of their community drops dead from boredom, we could take down the great scourge of Evo, 3S!

I really dont see what the big deal is. If anything you GG players benefit by not having to pay an entry fee for registration since AC wont be an official game. Get your shit together and organize a large scale side tournament ran on 4 BYOC stations. No sponsorship means your game aint gettin any less money than any other game. goddam if you want shit bad enough make it happen or stfu.

It’s posts like those (Clayton’s) that keeps the EVO staff’s view and opinion of the GG community as emo, self-deserving, whiny children who can’t deal with anything. I’m sad to see that the actions and words of few have successfully pushed the game out of the EVO roster.

I can only speak for what/who I know, but there’s not a single person in the SoCal GG community (that’s serious about competing at EVO) that is NOT okay with paying the $25 entry fee. Please don’t let one guy speak for everyone like this.

We are telling EVO Staff not to get upset because Clayton is not representative of our community, but apparently we’re willing to accept that the finalists of last years’ EVO DO represent our entire community and that we should all have to suffer for their actions.
