I helped run GG last year(and the year previous) at world up till top 8, the last 2 matches before the top 8 were delayed by about an hour because the teams went out for a ‘smoke break’. Thats not counting how much time I had to waste on tracking down teams that keptn walking away from the pools and you guys know how much I like to disqualify

then like afther eatch sesh (which take up to like 30 mins at least) i would wish them luck on their match and never see them again. lol

According to youtube a match of GGXX (2/3 rounds) takes about 3 minutes while a match of CVS2 takes about 4 minutes and 30 seconds (ratio match).
If it’s 2 out of 3 matches, that makes it 6 minutes for the GGXX match and 9 minutes for the CVS2 match.

The answer is: no, Evo does not owe anyone anything.
The problem is: Evo thinks that a community that they have taken a dump on does owe them something. Again, we know what the actions of a handful of individuals were. DQ their asses like you should with any game where the rules are badly broken or other misbehavior occurs.

I can see why they would need to fit the numbers into a time constraint, since time = money. I love this game to death but quite honestly some of the members that come on here and flame the crap out of everything that moves need to learn to stfu and go cry somewhere else or grow up and learn to live with it.

You’re right about people needing to live with it. Boycotting itself won’t do shit. Neither will fidgeting about conspiracy scenes, or crying about things.
Using your Evo-budgeted money to travel to another regional would be the best option. It would grow the scene, and you’ll have more fun there then you would at Evo. Everyone wins that way. That’s not boycotting, that’s just spending your money more wisely (unless you hit every major regional, but I don’t think more then 3 or 4 people do that). Under the laws of economics, if enough people do it, some other tournament will replace Evo as the national tourney, and get the sponsorship. No need to cry, rant, get mad, or get even- why go to Evo if you’ll have more fun for less money somewhere else? In the end, do what you think is fun, not what the hivemind says.
In the end, Evo will be fine without the GG crowd, and GG will be fine without the Evo crowd.
