IF they did it to spite us, why would they run the game for 5 years straight? Don’t pull that poll crap: even if their polls failed and they threw the game to the curb years ago, people still would have played.
A straight answer has been given already several times: top players were late. No one took it seriously. What’s the point to continue?

At this point, I’m willing to do whatever is best for the community. If that means going to Evo to support a large GG side tournament, then that’s what I’ll do. I don’t care anymore if this entire situation is the biggest bullshit in history or if it’s a 100% legitimate, unbiased, well-informed decision. It’s been made clear that taking sides only creates a chasm between Evo Staff skeptics and loyalists, separating the entire community. It comes to a point where debating either way, valid or not, serves no purpose other than further separation. And that point seems to have been passed a long time ago.
I only hope that the Guilty Gear players, whichever decision they make, support each other so that a uniform stance can be created. If that means creating a new tournament to replace GG’s presence at Evo, I’m all for it. If it means the aforementioned side tournament, then let’s all support that. Whatever we do, we need to stick together because that’s how a strong community is created; and I believe Guilty Gear already has one of the nicest communities in the entire fighting game scene.
Let’s show Evo, whether from inside or out, that they’ll regret getting rid of our game :woot:

People will believe what they want to believe. Some will believe this was a logical,rational decision. Others will believe that it was due to a bias. There are reasons to support either argument. The key is what you are going to do about what you believe.
You can either accept the decision, or choose to take your money somewhere else. That’s what it comes down to in the end.
The comments made by inkblot on the first page show that the reasons for removing the game were personal, but acceptable, since it is their tournament. That said, it is hypocritical of people to ask people who play GG as their favorite game to support Evo this year after this decision was made, especially given as there are other choices to spend your tournament-budgeted dollars. It is a free market, spend your money rationally.
You’re not involved directly with the community, but you’re a figurehead who got in the top spot. You can keep dismissing it like it doesn’t matter in one post, then back paddle the next. I’ve seen you pull this passive-agressive martyr shit too many times.

GG players played A DIFFERENT GAME to compromise. A DIFFERENT FUCKING GAME. Thank god we played XX, instead of reload, ky doesnt even have a fucking combo that knocks down, Slayer kills me in one bite instead of almost killing me in one bite, eddie has everything to sweep, short frc drill, yadda yadda. We compromised by playing a TOTALY DIFFERENT game. Thats like saying to cvs2 players you want to compromise? Go play cvs2 evo. GG players have had to compromise year after year.
Also this independent thing is stupid to. The GG community is just as independent as every other community. Fuck back durning the XX days there were only so many spots that played period. Luckly in that sence all the good players were from those small communities usual, texas, california, that whole team serious clique thing. So when you had tournies usualy the best players were there anyway. So all those “small” tournies were big. GG never needed EVO in the first place. The GG communities were having tournies all the time. Again that year EVO had XX instead of reload, did anyone acctualy go and start throwing XX tournies for this? fuck no…(at least not that I remember)…
I dont think anyone is thinking GG will die, GG got big on its own with out EVO. GG never needed EVO to be big again beacuse since it was a “smaller” and independent community all the good people usualy played each other in the first place, they never needed EVO to find out who was the best cuz the best were always playing each other.(more or less)
EVO to GG community just like any other community is/should just be a tournment(all be it a big one),where everyone can get togther enjoy a common intrest, hang out with freinds and enter a tournment. Whatever… I guess no one was alive back durning the days when GG community started from all that anime con type shit. EVO hasnt done anything for the community in a sence that the community couldnt have done.
And again no one is going around or has ever gone around to my knowledge after EVO talking shit about the orgainzers or whatever. Everyone is gratefull for you running the tournment, and again we fucking pay you to run the tournment and then you make EVO dvds that make money off the community. Why are we being shitted on then? Beacuse we want to play a game? THERE GIVING YOU MONEY TO LET THEM PLAY IT.
And then you throw out BS excuses like GG commuinty doesnt want to compromise when theyve had to put up with those stupid fucking polls 3-4 years in a row, give you our ps2s, play a game we didnt even want to AS a compromise etc etc.
Anyway basicly it seems to me to sum up this thread, EVO owes GG nothing, and GG owes EVO nothing. That makes sence… But EVO can say GG players fucked over themselves, and they are not allowed to defend themselves.
