I just called Tek Republik and they said the machines are physically there, but need to have the locks changed and won’t be ready to go till next weekend at the earliest. Still, good to know for those of us who loved the ITG2 machine (seriously has the best song list of a hacked machine I’ve ever seen, and I came from NJ so I’ve seen a whole bunch) that it will at least continue on. Hopefully without a price increase but that’s probably wishful thinking.
And I’ve only been in Austin since September, but I quickly discovered that Einsteins was the only half-decent arcade anywhere near here. It gives me the same sort of feel that 8 on the Break used to have back in NJ before it got overrun by jailbait whores, so it’s sad to see it go. Thanks for the four months of entertainment, and good luck to you guys in the future.
good lord this hit me like a ton of bricks today! Its my 23rd b-day and I thought to myself “you know what some 3rcd strike and kofXI and Eins seems like a good place to start my day off” but alas i get to the drag only to be brought down in sorrow! This was the FIRST and I mean FIRST place I stepped into when I got to Austin 4 years ago and now its gone! i was so sad i Got drunk outside the door later that night.
R.I.P Eins!!! heres to Tek, hope that pozer could teach me more on the GGAC board and play some more of my peeps on KOFXI in the near future. Cheers to all and lets make Tek a good place for comp in TX.
man i remeber going to austin and meeting up with fubar for games at E’s back when i had an unquenchable passion for guilty gear. random gg tourny’s there, and any time i went to austin is was a good excuse to take a trip to the drag. but now when i visit austin i will not get to visit that hole in the wall arcade anymore.
however im happy to hear that some of the games i care about are relocating to tek.
and im hoping to make that feb tourny. i can also play pc games there!
