Quitting SFIV, and it's because there is no competition

lol
Almost from Siberia, i’m from Ukraine.)

Pretty much this right here.

@people suggesting changing states for a video game as if its that easy though

yeaaah, do you remember the days when there were no online matches, and if you didn’t have access to an arcade, you only had the same five-ten people to play every other weekend, if they could even get together?

yeah.

HD Remix does not have a better netcode in my opinion…I never said SFIV has the best netcode…but it is clearly not the worst…stares at MKvsDC and KOF12…looks over shoulder at MK3…

find a few people with 5 bar connections who challenge you and add them for player matches. Its better then nothing and 5 bars is pretty good.

What are you saying? Bb has the same amount of delay sf4 has.
It’s just that most scrubs aren’t able to tell and blinded by the flashyness and fluid animation. Sure it doesn’t have spikes but the delay kills you

ok it’s a little better

yeah kof12 is downright unplayable, wasted 60 bucks on it and now it’s collecting dust until SNKP finally releases a patch to fix it

Lol, I pretty much feel the same as the OP. Having to play 90% of the time with shitty netcode is no fun at all.

Im in Japan right now for a few weeks, but havent had much game time since I’ve been busy with work. Today I took a break and walked around a bit, noticed an arcade literally right next door to my hotel. Better comp at this random arcade in “Kashiwa”, at a random time on a weekday then I get driving 45 minutes to weekly gatherings in Boston. And on flawless beautiful arcade setups no less. Playing street fighter in the US is godamn depressing.

If I had someone decent to play locally I’d never touch online

How come no complains about the matches they won because of LAG or input delay? Do you think Capcom counted on online play being subpar and that is the real reason they added shortcuts. It would seem online is directed at the casual couch warrior and there for a more simplistic way of doings would be more benificial for an arena where LAG and delay will be at its highest. I am in the DTX area but those guys skill level is probably crazy higher than mine and I would end up wasting their time trying to play with them so I will stick my online play lol.

But I took some advice I read on these forums and added people I have a good connection with and mainly stick with player matches. Keeps me sane and keeps it fun.

Mayne you need to take yourself to the regional match making thread asap. The DMV got mad SF4 players here. Go look now lookee you have folks to play now offline that is.

I’m gonna sell my sf4 too. Worst peace of crap that i could bought for 70 bucks.

Gameplay sucks, doesn’t fell like a SF at all. Not to mention the online gameplay…

I have some negative comments like that in my profile, I call them low self esteem players. They try to feel superior lowering your esteem because they can not improve theirs, that’s all. I feel pity about them

my closest arcade is the ufo in austin, tx, which is roughly 3 hours away.

Here’s what a friend of mine and I can’t seem to wrap our heads around tho (mainly since he’s the FPS gamer and I dig the Fighters and our local “high speed” internet is sketchy at best): Why in the hell does say a game like Call of Duty…where there’s like 20 people running around the map, shooting each other and blowing shit up non-stop, and generally be quite a bit more demanding graphics wise than ANY fighting game seem to get maybe the odd laggy moving target, where as in a fighting game be it SFIV, SF II HD Remix and Soul Calibur IV (played all of these with fairly similar results) in which you only have 2 people connecting, and isn’t near as demanding for your system since your play field is limited to being one side of the screen to the other with the results being a lot of laggy matches out there and timing is pretty well everything?

I’m sure the obvious answer is Capcom though…but I guess even the FPS genre has is lagging blunders too. Just can’t think of any off the top of my head atm. Also Soul Calibur 4 did get quite laggy but i did have easier time finding good connection matches there.

I have to drive about 81 miles to go to the nearest thing resembling an arcade here to play against some actual competition. If it’s something you like, work for it. I’m sure there’s something in your area you could go to. I found out about the scene down here by posting in the thread correlating to my state. Maybe you should try the same? Until then, online play will suffice.

It’s mainly because in most FPS games people play on a server. That way connection is shared. A 1 frame skip means everything in a fighting game and fighting games connect by player to player. So the connection is based only on the strength of the connection between both players.

You live in the MA/VA scene retard. It will take you five years to be considered average.

Come out to some of our gatherings in the MD/VA area. Some of the best players in the US are in the DC metro MD/VA/PA area.

I’ve been quit sf4 online due to the fucking pussies who stay back and spam, and honestly just do to the fact there is no parrying. Parrying played a big role in counters when I play’d 3s. So, yeah.
