My nose is “just there” not bulbous, nor pointed, and my nostrils aren’t flared out. I have black people lips. In other words, you’d have to be looking pretty close, or hear my name to assume anything other than (American)black. So, I’m black, even if my parents have a second language, and my last name is Rodriguez.

The thing you fail to realise is that black and white means many different things sometimes.

French? White.
African? Black.
Jamaician? Black.
American Black? Black.
Dominican? Black.
Only some times are there exceptions, like Brazil. Everone speaks Portugese, and is considered Spanish, yet there are people that can easily be identified as hispanic, white, and black, all sharing the language, culture, and names. Cuba, and Puerto Rico are the same way.
Man all this just about whether a videogame character is black or not. Don’t get me wrong I love my games but this is ridiculous -_-

And Elena’s eyes and hair are just stylistic, ie done for stylistic purpose (unless her mother was white or something) whitch brings us to the fact that the designers wouldnt do the samething like that with two of the chars in the SF3 cast, or maybe Dudley and Elean are brother and sister huh? They both got dark skin and blue eyes after all, ie the designs in the SF3 cast were all meant to be very unique from one another, meaning they wouldnt make two of the cast members (Dudley and Elena) both black, then give them both blue eyes, and “non-black” hair.
You know what, you can actually PROVE that most of those chars are black, however you can NOT prove that Dudley is black, there is NOTHING linking him to be black other then the fact that half of his insperation was black.

Sean = 3/4 Brazilian and 1/4 Japanese, so where does the black come in?
Eddy Gordo = He’s either Black, or a dark Brazilian, or both.

Yeah I know, but generaly when character designers (for fighting games) do character designs for characters with a specific nationality they generaly either do one of two of things, one they make their nationality (or whatever) very steriotypical, cliche, obvious, etc, OR they do the exact opposite, make them look how you’d never expect someone from there to look (like Adon in your av for example) and generaly theres no inbetween, and Ive also noticed that the designers want to do the countries the characters are from justice (perfect example Axl in Guilty Gear X) ie if they’re going to design a character to reprsent lets say Japan, its most likely not going to be a black guy (which actually might be cool to see since I dont think its been done, but you know the Japanese would probaly get affended or something)

You missed the point entirely there, its not that his hair could or couldnt be permed, its that Capcom wouldnt do something so “un black” like with his hair when they already did that with Elena, because they were trying to make all the new chars as unique as possible from one another. Also SF already has a black boxer, and them coming up with another one is like them saying they cant come up with anything other then black boxers.
Thats how all fighting game are now, excpet instead of cool black people its mostly cool Japanese people if the game is made in Japan, ie the coolest/best characters are always going to come from the nation the game is produced in.
Also if you want a fighitng game with alotta cool black chars (or mostly black chars) you should play Def Jam Fight 4 NY.
Played it…A; rappers are rappers and while they make decent fights, they are no Eiji Yamada (one example) B; I’m more into faster paced 2d games. Guilty Gear comes to mind. And second, lighten up man, I’m kidding around. No need to defend your point agaisnt me, you’ve got countless other people poking at you in a far more serious vein…vane? veighn? (who knows) than I.
Only half the cast were rappers, there were also actors and original chars to fill out the rest of the cast. Also Snoop/Crow in the game is probaly one of the best martial artists Ive seen in a game, he has an amazing style, and his long limbs and amazing speed make him the best char in the game, and thats saying something given all the fighting games Ive played.
Its true that the chars in that game cant match up all the fictional chars of most all fighting games, given F4NY is based so heavily in realism and you can only go so far with realistic designs and what not (one reason I hate realism)
Well F4NY is faster paced then basicly every 3D fighting game, and has a faster pace then most 2D games too.
And as far as GG, Ive really never considered it to be fast paced, ie something like Marvel Vs Capcom 2 with the speed turned all the way up is what I think of as fast paced in terms of 2D games, it kinda just has a nice overall speed to it. GG’s combos come off pretty fast though, which I never understood, ie the overall game speed is set diffrient then that of the combo speed. Some of the KOF games are the sameway but the exact opposite (the overall game speed moves faster then the combo systems)
Although I dont think anyone can really aurgue that the GG series has the best character designs of any fighting game (series) in the past 10 years. I mean not only do they all look cool as hell, and completely original, but they were inspired by Heavy Metal music, mostly the lyrics. I mean how fucking cool is that? Usualy all character designs or inspired on a visual level and for an entire cast of chars to be inspired by music lyrics and looking amazing as hell is quite an accomplishment.
If you’re a big GG fan though you might be sad to know that there’s only going to be one more GG game (GGXXX) Ive heard various reasons as to why, but I dont think any of the reasons have been confirmed.

While games that have the speed setting may be offensively faster, GG is both defensive and offensive in it’s speed. Take Chipp, Milia, Dizzy, and Justice for example. Their mobility gives them the ability to escape for the entire fight played right.
Not even Servbot is capable of that.
