The reasons Ive heard, were that the sales of the series has continuely been getting worse, people are growing tired of the engine, along with the team & company, who want to try new things.

As for this Dudley thing, I have no idea, he could be black or Indian. In all honesty, you can’t even go on things like facial features and hair. I saw a black girl before with like pitch dark skin, but she had a “white” nose and “good hair”. Seriously, people going “His nose doesn’t look black” or “His hair isn’t black” is just silly. I’m not saying he’s 100% black cuz I don’t know, just saying it’s not impossible.

Forgot something: The thing about Elena could be mixed cuz of her hair and eyes, doesn’t really mean a thing. There’s lots of chars like that, as some others said earlier, it could be dye and contacts, or just a stylistic thing. It would seem kinda, I dunno, boring in design if she looked average, so to spice it up, they just add something to make her more exotic. Pale hair and darker skin and pale eyes tend to add a nice contrast to characters,and sets them apart from the rest of the cast. If you’ve ever seen Yugioh, all the egyptian chars have brown skin and dark eyes, but Marik(the main bad guy) has pale white/blonde hair and light purple eyes, it all contrasts well and makes him stand out much more. Same thing with Cronos in Bloody Roar, he’s Indian, yet he looks different from the other Indian people in his kingdom(ie: his father, his bodyguard Ganesha, and his servants). He has brown skin, pale silvery/greenish/grey hair, and pale greenish grey eyes. It’s all a matter of style and contrast.

I am 95% certain that you can’t have blue eyes from mixed origins. White hair I guess can be possible because thats more of a lack of a gene than a contributing gene. Blue eyes are recessive though, so unless there is some wacky recombination and some mutation, it is near impossible for that to happen. They are wearing contacts, or, more realistically, Capcom and Japan in general enjoy giving dark skinned people white hair and different eyes, usually blue or green (green is the rarest eye color even among whites, they are both unheard of in other races) rather than that being a representation of an actual race’s characestaristics, ie., they did not think about it.

Alot of this is mindless flames but some has actually been insightful. That said, in adding fuel to the fire, I’m slowly starting to think Santum (the darkest of the Shadaloo dolls) is from Africa. At first I just assumed she was Vietnamese due to her name but after pondering the fact that Noembleu is Latin and latinos don’t actually speak latin and of course, you normally don’t think of Vietnamese as being that dark I’m curious.
By the look of his 3rd strike picture he looks like he’s mixed Black/White/Indian ancestry, you can make various assumptions based on his facial structure, his eye colour, and his voice actor, who has a sort of scholarly high class english accent that people from India usually have. Plus, I’ve never seen a White or Indian guy with such a well built upper body.
