With that said, I used to be positive Dudley was black. In my eyes, it was just Capcom switching one black boxer for another (albeit much cooler). Before this thread, I had never considered the possibility that Dudley could be anything other than black, and was pretty sure this would all just be a big joke and/or show of ignorance.
And while there has definitely been a show of ignorance, an important point has been raised. Perhaps Dudley is Indian. That would be pretty cool. He looks the least black in Third Strike, with his smooth hair, smooth tan, and angular nose.
I don’t think any of us can say for sure, just like whether or not OJ is guilty. But like OJ’s probably guilty, Dudley’s probably black.
A better question is: Does anyone really care?

This whole thing is the EXACT SAME way when it comes to Zangief & Eagle being gay, and Poison once being a man. People hear that shit and go crazy, and this is exactly the same, except those are with sex, and this is with race, ie there’s all those people out there that dont want to be convinced about those things when it comes to those SF chars, cause they like them (and might possibly think that that might make them gay) and this whole thing has become the same, ie “Im black, I like Dudley, he’s dark, so he must be black” or “black people are cool, and since Dudley is dark and cool he must be black”
Dudley being black, white, mixed or whatever is all fine with me, but its all that kinda shit (above) that I dont like, or have a problem with.
People probably think Dudely is black, because Dudely looks like he is black.
