I’ll get the timestamps for MOVs matches probably tomorrow, but damn his footsies are incredible. He got blown the fuck up by Kindevu’s Yun though… I saw on Mikes twitter that MOV and Makoto were staying up all night trying to figure Yun out… Makoto has to play Momochi in top 16 in losers… Momochi’s Yun got blown up by RF’s Sagat… he went 1-1 with Ken before switching to Yun, should’ve stuck with Ken Momochi!
From the start of Part 6 it has Momochi vs RF with Momochi up one round in the first game.
I’m not gonna comment on the quality of the opposition, or silly things like “at 10mins 15secs you could have done this…blah blah”. I find this sort of help a bit pointless. So I hope you prefer just a general overview.
I actually thought that your Ken was solid. Maybe slightly 1 dimensional (I have the same problem). Just need to utilise Ken’s vast arsenal of mix-ups a bit better.
Maybe a bit more work on your footsies and spacing leading into whiff punishing. A lot of the time, your offence started from a risky jump in or a mistake from your opponent. So just be aware that against better opponents, these just won’t happen.
It’s all stuff that I need to work on too so don’t feel like I’m knocking you or anything…
I’m gonna post some vids tonight so I’d appreciate some feedback too…
I’ve just worked out how to upload vids from my phone so bear with me while I iron out the kinks.
I had a good match against what I thought was a top level Gen the other night. I hadn’t played for a week or so, so please overlook the random dropped hit confirms and the missed FADC to U2. I feel like my footsies have levelled up but I still need your help to take my game up a level.
Here’s the first match, it’s too late to upload the others right now. Funnily enough, this was the only match I won!!!

Please help me out here Ken boys, I’m eager to learn!!!
G77 your footsies are solid. U2 shouldve came out, but you can try double tapping KKK just to be sure. I would say anti airing at key moments would’ve saved you big time. For landing kara throws, you can try putting in stutter steps after the blockstrings to have them miss their tech timing. Other then that very solid ken.
g77, don’t ever let Gen jump. Then there’s one other thing I noticed, the gen player is quick to press buttons when you even get a character away from him. I guess I’m trying to say learn to notice player’s habits and adapt to them. But that really only comes from experience. Oh and you need to uppercut more! Make them fear your 3-frame fiery uppercut of doom.
I feel like I was having a bad day watching those replays again. I was a bit rusty but I felt my footsies were quite tight.
I had an epic set against a pretty decent Yun last night (by my standards at least). We played an unofficial FT10 and I’ve recorded them all. If I post it tomorrow i’d love a critique of the whole set. I’d really appreciate it because:
I actually played close to my best and made only a few execution errors.
Yeah Momochi’s Ken beat RF’s Sagat pretty convincingly when they played in losers finals… and when they played the first time he really shouldn’t have switched to Yun after RF tied it at 1-1… I felt it was more his mistakes than RF that lost him that game… and than RF crushed his Yun… (RF thinks this match is easy for Sagat)
Maybe, but does anyone even what his handle was in the arcades, if he even played at the arcades? If he’s even Japanese and not Korean or Singaporean or something? I’d like to know/see more of that guy, he’s one of my favorite Ken players as it stands. So far, the only Ken players to have qualified for SBO are Michael Tan and Jie Wa (both paired with a Yun player)
