Wow, I’ve been playing viper lately too. I honestly think she beats akuma better than ken. The akuma fight is so difficult, everytime I adapt to it something new comes up. I find myself losing to akuma more than guile, especially the very lame akumas. What’s your take on this?
U2 plus a solid ground game make that match as easy as it’ll get for Ken…otherwise yeah it is a tough match. You can’t even afford a mistake or you’ll eat a 280 dmg combo or more into legit mix-up. If I beat Akuma 1 of 3 things happened: 1. I guessed a lot of bad teleports. 2. He ate U2 3. I was lamer than him. But I’d rather fight Akuma over Guile any day of the week man. ^^;
in super or ae? in ae its even in super its 6-4 akuma but not too hard edma and shady k give me truble tho but the average guile is alot harder to me then the average akuma
Uhh, it seems I have to hit the lab again with the akuma matchup. I just hate it when they teleport forward and my OS tatsu or U2 flies to the other side. And I don’t know why lame akumas are harder to me than lame guiles, I should learn how to react to ex flips, and learn when to hadoken. I know it’s a bit hard for viper too, but I just love it how 1 FFF gives her the lead. Mostly, when I anti-air with viper its not on reaction, It’s a baited jump/demon flip by a feint… Anyways thanks guys, Ill try to play as much akumas as I can to learn it more.
Aw why you moving from Ken to Viper Lilsixc? You’re one of the strongest Ken’s here, but I know its so hard to win with him, and you wanna win some shit once too lol. AE doesn’t come to consoles for monnthssss though. & Funny how Viper’s always put mid-tier on paper, but she’s a beast in the right hands lol.
I’ve actually been playing some Akuma, and seeing how everyone’s checking out others, I might stick a bit. Just cause I love mix-ups and combo’s, Akuma got it all. Can be defensive & straight aggressive for damage. Ken’s mixup is great though, still my main. Actually was looking into Viper a bit too, shes fun.
im practicing viper so i can counterpick im not switching mains but as far as fighting games go all i know is sf4 ken and ssf4 ken since marvel is coming out i wana learn diffrent stuff so i can expand with different characters n super and other games viper teaches you the game in a whole different aspect plus she counters sim seth and guile wich personally are my hardest fights.chun is a pain in the ass also and viper takes care of her too.she just seems like the perfect alt for me,but since shes so hard to use i wont use her in tourney just yet im learning from the ground up so it will take awhile but when ae drops i should have a decent viper and a good ken and im hoping both characters can win me some fight money
Hey Guys,
Not sure if this have been discovered yet, but i found an automatic Safe jump setup against Adon with Ken/Ryu some days ago.
I made a video, you can check it out here:
I think this setup is very useful against Adon, and the best thing is, it’s automatic, and you can do it after a (kara)f.throw.
You just have to “mash” forward dash into the throw recovery, hold up immediately in the dash recovery, and input the normal(mk or mp work good), so there is like no timing required.
Don’t forget to input an OS against backdash, sweep for example.
With this setup you will also stuff every version of Jaguar kick/ Jaguar tooth.
Only escape the Adon player could try is FADC backwards, but you can punish it on reaction.
I hope this helps
great find

I already knew about this, nice contribution, OS sweep is best in this situation. There are also other automatic safejumps, like against honda backdash then safejump, but cannot OS MP srk in this safejump. There is also Step kick then nj.mp against chunli and viper, but can’t OS ex srk to beat vipers tk in this situation.
Here is the video I’ve been working on and just finished:

Hell yeah!! Wao again! I always love watching his ken, thanks for posting this man.
He almost had that cr.jab os u2 but the gen player was very good about not falling into Wao’s pace.
It looks like he’s still experimenting with U2. Dammit if he would just buy a console and go to training mode instead of spending his lab hours in arcades he would become arguably one of the best in japan, I really believe in him. He is our sako now, Lol.
Well from what I’ve learned going to Arcade UFO, you’re money is on the line all the time and you play even harder in that environment. So it maybe just how he learns, I learned chun much quicker at the arcade than I did online, that’s for sure.

Cool videos. Just FYI, Playerjun52 plays arcade edition too and he is No.3 with Ken. His handle on the card system is Bon. Hopefully some footage of him can be spotted.
A few casual matches I had recently:

Ken vs Dee Jay
Ken vs Ken
Ken vs Chun Li
Nice matches. You landed many FAs but didn’t capitalize on damage, cl.s.hk xx tatsu/dp is the most damaging combo, I guess you already know this. I liked the matches, but damn that chun-li was random, lol.
