Been dedicating a lot of work into Juri. She needs it she’s much harder to win with compared to many characters. I’m trying to get her to a B. Here are some ranked matches of her.
I did a ft10 with a guy online. Rose/Sakura player. Here is the first of 13 matches. I would really appreciate a few views and critique on them. I tried to rush down as much as I could.
you did everything you should do, i just couldnt watch that much because ur clearly alot better as a player than this sakura player, he was mad scrubby and even you know that otherwise you wouldnt blow unneccesary meter on a lk pinwheel FADC that hit him anyway.
it wouldve been sick if he/she finished the combo off with a lk/ex pinwheel.
well according to my handy dandy ssf4 app, ex pin has a 7 frame startup, i have no clue if thats right or not, but that will trade with alot of things. id think everyone would like it to have atleast a 5 frame startup with throw invincibility, that way, it wouldnt trade as much, and it could be used as a reversal.
(correct me if im wrong, i just learned how to read frame data, now i gotta put it to good use).
some moves have their full startup covered by invincibility…this includes Rufus ex Messiah kick… i wont spoil it for you, check its startup on your app knowing that its startup frames are all covered by hit and throw invincibility
I’m looking at the hitboxes right now, and it looks like it’s actually completely invincible for 6 frames, and then the on the 7th frame, the active hitbox, throwable hitboxes, and projectile-invincible hitboxes all appear simultaneously.
That makes sense why I never trade on jabs or early strongs. Also makes sense why the throws happen after the “psssshhhhhh” of the sempusha is heard. You see her gearing up for the sempusha and then get thrown.
In theory then late throws forces juri to jump, bd or tech.
Is there an os that beats all this? I’d like to just break the mirror match and be done with being the best juri on psn. Lol. Because we all know mirrors prove that.
I wonder if you can lk sempusha a back dash after a throw whiff and hk sempusha a back jump. Essentially can I punish an option after a throw whiff.
In theory wouldn’t jfaps cover all options? A delayed jfaps should beat sempusha, no?
LMAO 35 seconds in, i dont have an xbox right now, can someone test to see if whats happening is actually whats happening…is that FSE with…THROW INVINCIBILITY??? Makes me wonder if thats a solid way to avoid being ultra 1’d by gief.
A Juri started a pretty long win streak from 12:33 in AE.
@19:03 Dashing the whole stage to punish a claw’s wall dive escape is kind of mindblowing. Again in 28:34
@25:16 That j.mp -> U2 juggle probably wouldn’t work in SSF4. Maybe they changed it in AE?
BTW KyonumAzzz just won the first AE 3v3 team tournament yesterday (against Kiryu Tsukimiya, Tonpy, Haneyama, etc, big boys such as Daigo Mago didn’t attend though). Videos are supposed to be uploaded next month on capcom’s youtube channel.
That win streak was sick. What i observed more than anything is juris dmg output in comparison to the rest of the characters is now actually above average, her best standalone punish is cr.hp to expinwheel which is like 280 dmg for something thats easy to pull off (7frame cr.hp startup). Give her abit more time and she can do close to 400 dmg in punish combos alone, put her in the corner and then all hell breaks loose.
When she used U2 against that Bison that was more than 50% health, gone, for a raw ultra, it almost makes it seem like we mightve got a dmg buff on it.
i like the j.mp juggles aswell thats like 300 damage each time he did one of those, sick.
the claw punish was sick too, can we do that in regular super? If we cant it must mean our forward dash is better.
Man im so hype for AE juri, shes looking so much better.
I also like the tk dive kick into super as well. You can do j.mp > U2 now in SSF4. The j.mp > j.mp > st.hp > EX pinwheel setups he pulled off (which also isn’t new, but nice to watch) looked sexy in action
@17:08: In the Dudley match, I really like how he used EX counter and then did a cross up j.HK in the air…very clever.
@20:50: That tk dive kick > EX pinwheel was very risky, but nice. The Rufus player definitely got frustrated after that.
Overall, I was very pleased with the Juri player’s performance. It’s definitely not the best I’ve seen, but good.
What I meant was that j.mp -> U2 @ 25:16 probably wouldn’t have enough height to connect the Ultra in SSF4. That combo also has some wacky timing on different characters at the moment.
At 31.00 in the last battle vs Bison, Juri did U2 while Bison was doinh d.wk. In Super, there was always a sort of delay between activation and the time the 1st leg hit because Juri would duck down before the first leg contact. This was why you always had to time the kick for the EX dive kick-> U2 combo in Super. Also, because of that delay, people could do a jab and if you did the ultra, they were safe if they blocked after just that jab.
However in that vid, the d.wk is on the field by Bison and Juri activates U2 on wakeup and the first leg is darn near immediate. There’s no ducking down or delay at all.

Maybe this is why all the reports of EX dive kick-> U2 not working outside of the wall are out there. The 1st kick is more immediate; the combo probably still exists, just have to change the timing.
