At the risk of stating something that will probably go badly misinterpreted or ignored outright, a longer video does not guarantee more or better evidence.

I think the fact that we have a thread like this that lumps all occurances of shootings together as if they’re commonplace proves that there is a huge problem. Guns are dumb.

I don’t think guns are the problem. Guns make the issue become highly visible and destructive. There is either something or a combination of factors that is leading to mass shootings becoming a bit more prevalent than before. Considering the ages, we may have to start looking at all the medication we’re forcing on children rather than what they are using as a vehicle for their actions. This isn’t a defense of guns. Instead it is a means of repeating goodm0urning’s earlier comment in this thread on our mishandling of mental issues.
We can take the guns away from all these people. I don’t think that we actually prevent tragedies altogether. If they don’t have a gun, they’ll end up stabbing somebody. If we take out the guns and murders increase then we’ll essentially be back at square one.

I have a good way to save lives (if that’s what they really want to do). Make it a mandatory 20 years for DWI. I bet any sane person wont drive drunk, anyone who still does is the problem in the first place. If you’re willing to face 20 years just to drive drunk then there’s probably a lot of other fucked up shit you’re willing to do.

First of all, it references actual facts and the results of people looking into issues, instead of just pointing out a bunch of coincidences and making horrible accusations about people.
In that case that isn’t enough, I would refer you again to the snopes link I posted, but we’re making the assumption that because a shortish rebuttal video did not address every claim made in the original video that those claims have no counterpoints.
More to the point, I would argue that if you were interested in whether or not those claims were true, you would have already looked into them, instead of passively agreeing with the video (“I’m not saying, I’m just saying/I wouldn’t be surprised if…”).

Am I wrong here? Did they not say its about saving lives? I guess it’s just a specific response to mass shootings but its not hard to do a mass shooting with other weapons that aren’t considered assault rifles. In the end, it’s not going to save lives.
