You would have a government and military controlling all of the resources versus people who would not be prepared to survive in such a situation and would quickly run out of supplies with no one to assist them. Which side do you think would be the first to no longer be able to continue?
I know that you weren’t serious. In case you couldn’t tell, I was being sarcastic.
But anyway, I have your vote?
In a way, the world is a lot more like Final Fantasy 7 than most people think.
And I’m not talking about all the emo assholes running around with bad haircuts, bragging about their materia possessions.
For the record, I don’t believe that gun control is the only issue here. There is also America’s obsession with guns that I mentioned before. It seems to have a lot to do with fear and paranoia. I swear that America has this idea that if if stricter gun control laws are enacted and they are no longer able to own fifty-seven hand guns and assault rifles then a vast horde of gunmen will come out of nowhere like it’s Metal Slug.
Sounds like this world to me.
I work with nine guys. All of us own at least one firearm. Some more than others. Firearms include AR15s, 30-06, 10-22s, multiple handguns. I could go on. None of us own them because we are afraid gun men or anyone is going to take them. Shooting recreationally is a hobby and like many hobbies when an individual gets involved in a hobby they invest in things they want to use and experience. I for one want AR15, a Tokarev, a 1911 and quite a few other guns. For most law abiding gun owners it’s a hobby. It’s really not hard to grasp.

The side that wanted it more. I don’t see politicians drawing this out. Nor do i see US troops willing to turn and harm their countrymen for extended periods of time.

i still don’t understand why the media chooses to focus on guns he didn’t use and why no one wants to talk about:
-him killing his mother
-her basically dropping everything to make sure that he had a better quality of life
-more than one person failing him
-MENTAL HEALTH
would it have been better if it were a knife attack? or bombs made from home made chemicals? this guy was insane. why is the blame being put on AR15’s and dance dance revolution?
(for the record i’m a liberal gun owner).
It turns out the gun used was the rifle. So many newspapers got it wrong it’s almost alarming. I understand you want to get as many hits as possible but holy fuck, you don’t give up journalistic integrity for it.
source?
the media fucked this one up completely and them spinning this to get the assault weapons ban reinstated is disgusting to me. there’s so much thats completely different about this story than when it first started…
i hear that this guy smashed his hard drives too? and he had his brother’s id on him. there’s way more to this guy than they’re saying.
i see mentally ill ppl that fell through the cracks every day. EVERY DAY. nobody wants to talk about the guy threatening to jump off the platform or the lady cursing an imaginary person out for three and a half blocks after cursing said imaginary person out on the train for 15 min tho.
Good point, if you’d allow me to play Devil’s Advocate…
Who exactly is going to muscle the US gov’t if it decided to completely ignore Geneva? Would anyone be willing to actually try and impose sanctions on the US(Raz0r, wanna bite)?
Also @ Voodazz:
As far as the US-AF being composed of a lot of Billy Joe Bobs, sure they may go in that way, but the military’s gotten increasingly good at turning Billy Joe Bobs into killers.
I actually posted an article that started there were injuries from the rifle. I even pointed it out earlier.

Because [some] Americans like to ignore things that are “not normal”. Normalcy is a figment of our imaginations and we only follow social norms/cues set up by society. So, the lady talking to herself for 15 minutes will continue to be the weird woman that talks to herself and people will look the other way to ignore it. These are real issues that can be treated with proper care/therapy, medicines [if needed] and re-learning better coping mechanism/techniques to function in this dysfunctional functional society. Instead of embracing our differences, people would rather make it almost “embarrassing” to have a problem, or cast it aside, feign ignorance of a real problem in front of them.
American escapism at its best.
That’s true. I’ve known some drones who would chuck a grenade into a maternity ward if they were ordered to.
It’s no accident that the military actively seeks out the un-educated, highly susceptible to fill the lower ranks.
this thread, as if Afghanistan isn’t bleeding us dry with their rifles from 1947.
You don’t even have to focus on the un-educated. Just de-humanize the enemy enough and establish some distance to allow a person’s conscience to be clear. You’d be surprised by how much more willing people are to “neutralize targets” on a screen than shooting someone.
edit: Pedo, that may also be able to be explained by more than just the “guerrilla’s superior tactics”. I mean are you guys forgetting about the MIC? Some people are making very big money off of protracted wars, and would like that they keep on going. Not to sound tinfoil hat, but there may be more there than just a difference in tactics.

I always find it kind of amusing when people treat it like there’s a huge chasm between educated and uneducated people. When it comes down to it, you’re still simply dealing with people. Educated people aren’t suddenly immune from buying into rhetoric, war time fervor, or deifying someone telling them what they want to hear.
The words Aurora and Sandy Hook is found in the movie The Dark Knight Rises and sandy hook is found in the song and plot of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Youtube Dark Knight Rises Sandy Hook and ILLUMINATI SANDY HOOK NIGHTMARE B4 CHRISTMAS. Im sure there are many more examples that will come.
For your first point, studying the tools and methods of propaganda is amazing. Never is the enemy shown once as a person, it is always a savage animal, demon, or symbol. Turn the enemy into some inhuman abstraction and suddenly its as easy as 1-2-3 to pull the trigger.
Yeah, there is them, but the issues our military had with Iraqi freedom fighters (insurgents) shows that even if they want the war, we are not prepared to deal with these tactics. Its obvious in Afghanistan to, we are so ill prepared and incapable of fighting an enemy like them that we bomb them with robots at the smallest hint of suspicion, and now we are advocating murder of kids.
Well its official, more gun control on the behalf of 20 dead white kids. Funny how nobody had anything to say when it was filthy disgusting minorities who only leech.
Safety for freedom, yup, we have failed.
