Well, as much as I loathe Facebook and social media in general, they do serve a purpose incidents like this as evidence of the escapism that Neesa and a few other people were talking about. Nice to have “hard” evidence of that since very little ever really dies on the Internet.

Yeah, basically. I don’t fault most people here for being genuinely sad or angry, but it quickly becomes “laughable” when a lot of them are the same people time and time again, having obviously not done shit.
I suppose even that’s a bit unfair since it’s not like prayers are going to stop “mad men”, as much as an all too-large section of America still seems to believe. However, these threads don’t really serve a purpose outside of to piss people off as they have in the past decade that SRK’s been around and words like “this is tragic” can’t help but ring hollow when the news beats all forms of the word “tragedy” deader than any horse within the first hour of masturbating over this.
For everyone that genuinely wants to help, pressure Congress about mental health shit and gun control shit–without being draconian fear-mongers like some idiotic woman on the news was talking about a couple of hours ago. That’s pretty much all you can actually do it in reality, even as ineffectual and corrupt as much of Congress is (which is where part of the real horror lies).
In completely unrelated news, I highly expect another ones of these to happen within the next week, namely next Friday. At the very least, another one seems likely before 26th. Anyone want to take bets?
