To view the official re-post apology for the controversies / issues at PU2011, please visit the PowerUp website.

The event was good overall, and we received a large amount of positive feedback along with the negative. These are all things that will go into improvements for PU2012.

I once again thank all the PU2011 staff members, and also I’d like to thank all the players for coming out for the event. I hope to see you all next year!

My footage from PowerUp 2011 is live, folks! YouTube - LordHollow’s Channel I got about a quarter more to upload and will make it all public throughout the coming week. Thx for the hospitality, Osirun.

Can you post top 16 so we know who got evo points.

Thanks for the fun to everyone involved. Always a good excuse to visit my dad, so im sure you’ll see me at future events.

Thanks Osirun, I had a really good time and really enjoyed myself.

I would like to thank you and Jesse for running/ hosting the tournament and taking on such a massive work load. It really is a thankless job and I do feel other then the obvious controversies the whole weekend was great.

Having more then 12 people for a Tekken tournament was sweet and I’ll help out by posting the results which Sluch has already posted on TZ.

"Tekken 6 (26 entrants):

1st: Sluch (Alisa, Christie)
2nd: Hai Guy (Jack-6, Nina)
3rd: Jody the Great (Lee)

Tekken 6 5vs5 Exhibition (Team Michigan vs Team Southwest Ohio)

The Tekken 6 5vs5 Exhibition took place w/ Team Michigan (Hai Guy, Joshimitsu, Panther, Noodle Head, Tuch Dis) going up against Team Southwest Ohio (Sluch, Drago, Derrick Legend, Skeez, Soul Bushido). The exhibtion was a best 2 out of 3 set where the 5th spot from Team Michigan & the 5th spot from Team Southwest Ohio would start up the set, they would play one match & the winner of that match would stay on & play the next person from the opposing team. This is how it went down:

1st Set: It was essentially a back & forth set here where Team Michigan would win a match, then Team Southwest Ohio would win a match, & keep on cycling through. It went down 2 the wire w/ Hai Guy & Sluch meeting up in the last match of the set w/ Hai Guy defeating Sluch & Team Michigan taking the 1st set.

2nd Set: This set was drastically different from the 1st set for sure. Tuch Dis from Team Michigan almost pulled out an OCV against Team Southwest Ohio, but Sluch came back & pulled off an incredible run, defeating all 5 members of Team Michigan & claiming the 2nd set for Team Southwest Ohio.

3rd Set: Team Michigan came out the winner here on this one w/ Tuch Dis making a very nice run w/ an OCV on Team Southwest Ohio, claiming victory for Team Michigan."

Good shit there Sluch

My shouts outs and what not have been posted on Tekkenzaibatsu as well.

I do feel what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger so I know Power Up 2012 will be back and better then ever.

Guilty Gear results?

Post entire results?

Also, im 1000% sure DJ Ramsey placed higher than PR Balrog and Nerdjosh in Marvel. Fix that please.

Off the top of my head Mac…

 1. Kyle
 2. NerdJosh
 3. Face

About 15 or 16 entrants. Matt might have full results later, but it was a decent, if mostly local turnout.

Truth. Also speaking of DJ, yo ZAP whats up with that MM DJ had with PR rog? Upload that stuff.

I had fun. Jesse your brother has so dope food. I was smashing that cornbread all weekend.
Nerdjosh ggs. I’ma break that bee-itch next time. So close

And Kraken is nasty as fuck

Only Top 8 in both MvC3 and SSFIV received EVO TS points per the Tournament Season rules. If and only if we had exceeded 128 entrants in a tournament was it to receive Top 16 EVO TS points.

I will continue to add results as time allows.

Also, the mistake with DJ Ramsey has been fixed in this result thread and I will make sure all is well with DJ’s EVO TS points.

The MM Station footage is coming…I managed to capture over 25GB’s of footage. In fact I’m rendering right now.
It’s coming

YouTube - NerdoYoshua’s Channel I uploaded grand finals of mystery tournament.

In all honesty power up was a GREAT TOURNAMENT AND A GREAT EXPERIENCE! Even with all the complaining i know these guys will just come back stronger and they have the team and the venue to do it I will definitely be back to show my support.

I’ll write shoutouts once im out of the greyhound loopyness when i wake up but I had an amazing time with everyone this event was great! 4th in mystery tournament KEEEEEITS~!!![Geese voice] and top 3 in everything i entered but mk and 5th in marvel. I’m going to try and step it up even more, no tournament is safe at evo! ggs and great times everyone

Marvel 2 - 10 entrants

 1. EG JustinW
 2. Derek Learnslow
 3. Nash

We had a ton of fun hanging out and playing the golden oldies. Even though I’m not into the new games (although MK9 looks cool) it’s completely worth traveling and seeing so many cool people I only get to see a few times a year.

Plus it’s a FREAKING ARCADE and anything that helps Arcade Legacy continue to be successful is awesome. GS to Jesse for being a great part of the Midwest FGC and for always doing his best to cater to players. Japan-style H2H ST in Ohio = amazing.

3s crew – maybe Legacy will get an alcohol license next year for beer matches?? Mario, thanks for running 3s!

ST crew – GS to all MMs – Dave, good times! Brent, lol, stop NOT taking ST serious man but least I finally discovered O Ken. Jizzon, GGs dude keep it up.

Eduardo – lol all I have to say is GS  got me

McLovin – wow you beat REO?? Nice. I take it no one recorded UMK3 though :frowning:

Tim – GS hyping MK man, finally people have a new one to pay attention to

Frank – good to see you are an eternal student of ST. Sim! Good seeing you dude.

Justin - TIGER TIGER TIGER. I love that matchup haha

Cle car - lol it’ll always be worth traveling when our car rides are like this. This is no joke

Vic/Art - Spooky is goddddliiiiiiiike. Talk to you guys soon. Keep up the greatness, you’re leveling up hard.

Noel - TWO wakeup Brave Dances in a row - I respect that

Nick - thanks for looking at those converters!!!

Zach – GS on all your hard work!

Jebailey – Jim Courier man … I tried to warn you! You are CLASS and thanks so much for working with me on Relay For Life!

I know I chatted up more people so shoutouts to everybodyyy

Of course tourney wasn’t perfect - none are - but I offered my advice to TOs constructively and privately. I advise anyone who has a problem with a tournament to do the same. Unfortunately I think most people complaining about shit don’t even GO to tournies, let alone came to PowerUp. Tourney was definitely a success and a few hitches shouldn’t blind anyone to that. Great job to Jesse and Nathan.

GenesisDC got a refund because he got left out of the registration list when I made the brackets, and his was the only one I didn’t catch as there were three or four others who got left out as well. He ended up as a bye on the brackets

Thanks everyone for making the trip out to Ohio and Arcade Legacy! I’ll keep the shoutouts short

All of Team Spooky: You guys are pretty much some of the best people in the FG community. It was awesome having you guys at AL and I’m sure everyone here appreciated having the TS crew around. Stay amazing.

Osirun, and the Volunteers: Thank you all for doing a great job at Power Up. Some things may have gone wrong, but it’ll be better next year. I already know. I hope the rest of the players out there can put the drama aside and come back again for PowerUp2012.

Jesse: Look, we thank you a lot for Arcade Legacy already. I’m lucky to be a part of a scene in the middle of Ohio that has such an amazing person giving the FGC so much. Last weekend I played Vampire Savior on a Japanese style head-to-head cab set up against some of the best players in the US. I can not ever forget that experience! It was your work, the deals you made to get those cabs for us and the maintenance you did to have them in working order, that made that happen. Thanks. (maybe we should keep that on a head-to-head setup…? )

MK Community: You know, I wouldn’t expect it but MK9 was insanely entertaining thanks to MK players, old and new, showing up in Cinci. Thanks for the show guys.

Windjammers: Video proof of SNK cab being VIOLATED by PR Rog, . Good shit on the win Justin! “Arcade Legacy, the Wimbledon of Windjammers”

I’mma just repost what i said in the other thread:

I would like to add shoutouts to Jimmy for taking 9th in MK and Face for taking 3rd in GGAC. Good shit repping Columbus!

I did better in super than I thought I would, but then choked on the game I actually play…
Overall I had a great time, the venue was great, the staff was great, the food was great, and there were plenty of set-ups. My only true gripe was that it took a while to finish up the pools but whatev, that’s tournaments for ya.
Shoutouts to all the people I haven’t seen for a while. HNIC Mike, Chat, German Luger, Webster & Keits.
Good to meet the Michigan crew. Y’all too hype, and Qiu you are a douchebag on the greatest level. Dereklegend thanks for blowing me up and showing me how bad the juri/sim match is.
Great to meet other Arcana heads and to get a ton of casuals. Hopefully some more will come out of the woodwork as the year passes.
See y’all at ufgt!

GG’s to all I played especially Air for playing casuals with us on that cab for 2+hours. I was the Blanka player.

Chris- We can MM for beer at SB. You’ll become an alcoholic playing me though.

Nathan- Fun tourney and the venue was perfect for it.

IDK about that, beer is X factor – The more you win the bigger adv. the opponent gets

Arcade Legacy really deserves the attention and exposure from being an Evo seed.

Thanks Nathan for organizing a good event. Next year will be different and we won’t make any major mistakes like what happened this year.

Konkrete, the reason pools took so long was due to a major bracket error in Pool 2 that we had to correct. Otherwise, finishing 4 pools and being done at midnight isn’t so bad. Sorry for any delay though, and we will be much better organized for next time. Bet it.

Thanks to Team Sp00ky for coming out and running a stellar stream on our limited internet connection. Vic, you really know your shit and i’m really glad you enjoyed the time out here. Thanks for buying a bunch of NES games from Jesse too–supporting the Arcade is my primary goal in doing any of this, and i’m extremely pleased to know that you like the venue. I hope we can get you guys to come back next year.

Min, NerdJosh, Haunts, Arturo, David - You guys are awesome and it was amazing to kick it with you guys all week/weekend. It was nonstop fun and I didn’t mind driving around one bit. I must come to California and New York to do it all over again. It’s definitely time for a change, Haunts!

MarkMan - Thank you SO much for sponsoring us and coming out. I hope you enjoyed the venue as well as the food.

Sunday was basically the best after-tournament party i’ve had. Chillin at Bargo’s with Inthul, MarkMan, Jebailey, TrueHood, Professor Rouse, the TeamSpooky crew, and UltraDavid was such a blast. Sucks that I got sick from those chicken nachos…haha…

Truehood - We’re gonna get that runback at UFGT7. I just pre-regged yesterday and will be attending.

Jesse - As always, thanks for being the fortress of our community and providing us a place to play/hang out. Without you, our community wouldn’t have events like this, and all of us really appreciate the work you put in to keep us coming back. Not that you need to do much by now.

Otto - Thanks for selling food all weekend to help the arcade, brad, and us out. People were extremely happy across the board with the food, and I hope we can get that same deal again for next year.

GGs to everyone I played at VSAV, SSF4, and Tekken.

Tad you’ll probably never see this but I hope you relocate to Cincinnati. You are awesome. Kajoq you should move up here too just because lexington is stupid and far away.

Cleveland - Thanks for coming down and playing. Ghaleon–we will definitely have H2H ST again next year, so come on back. Thanks for all your advice/support.

GS to Wolfkrone for winning SSF4, you are truly godlike.

More shoutouts later when I can remember.
