thanks tony, thats what i thought. on that note, i have a tough time doing meaty jabs sometimes, especially on blanka. actually meaty anything on blanka, it seems like his wakeup animation changes all the time
Yes, that’s a big problem with Blanka, he’s very difficult to meaty due to his strange wake-up animation
Don’t try to do meaty JABS on Blanka use meaty crouching short. AFAIK It will beat out everything except for reversal ball, or ultra/super, which if you can bait can be punished. Hilariously, sometimes when blanka is in the corner and he successfully hits you with an EX reversal ball you can STILL punish him with scissors.
yeah if you have charge you can punish anything he hits you with in the corner except for crossup roll, but that can just be focused and punished with roundhouse. pretty hilarious.
well meaty cr.shorts or meaty anything will beat out anyone’s normals except for reversal specials. on rainbow it just whiffs i think and you can roundhouse it on reaction if youre quick. i use jabs sometimes because if im expecting them to block (any even semi-decent player, if blocking in the corner against bison should know to block LOW) then i’d rather use a jab for the frame advantage.
if your opponent is going to block and of course they will block low, might as well go for a meaty that will give you the most frame advantage and can be cancelled into scissors.
PS: a meaty anything should beat elec on startup correct? it doesnt have to necessarily hit low? does this hold for meaty jump ins as well? you can throw him out of the damn startup so i’d assume meaty anything should stuff it?
yes, meaty short will beat electricity (and I assume jab as well) You can also time a safe jump to beat blanka’s electricity, and be safe against EX ball (which you will block) however I am told its a 1 frame link to do the safe jump properly so you definitely take a risk when you try it.
I advised meaty short because honestly I read it from somewhere else and I’ve used it successfully against blanka players. I used to have trouble with the blanka match up until I read somewhere that c.short owns blanka and I found out for myself this is tru. I know c.jab will lead to higher damage combos than c.short however c.short comes out faster which is the difference maker.
^ wurd. I should try using it more in the matchup but I usually eat a reversal when I try something meaty on wakeup when he has meter so I usually just try and bait and get him to waste it when he does.
It’s an extremely annoying matchup for me.

I’m a little confused about playing footsies with Dictator.
Say I’m trying to play the most basic of footsies games: I walk into opponents poke range and walk out, opponent pokes, and I punish the poke. Now, with Ryu or Chun or Rog (etc.), they can sweep the poke for the knockdown. But Bison’s ‘sweep’ isn’t the same kinda thing. I figure I can walk BACK and hit them with s.forward or something, but is there any way I can score a knockdown? I can see scissors working, but I’m struggling to find time to charge in hella quick footsie games.
c.LK xx Scissor for the knock down. c.LK is like Bison’s fastest normal. You’d be surprised how much defense this little weenie can penetrate. It’s only like 7 or 8 total frames. I still feel they should make c.LK links easier to do, 2f-3f links but not chainable.

the only change i think cr.lks needs is +1 blockstun. i know its fast but its not chainable like rog’s jab (ugh) and its reach is decent. there’s nothing abusable about it so i don’t see why it needs to be so unsafe.
Put counter hits on and do c.LK (1 extra frame on hit)! It’s so fun to be able to nail it 100% of the time on demand!
At the moment, my biggest goal with Dictator is being able to shut down my opponents jump game – I’m a Sim player, the fuck did you expect?!
I’m really interested in close s.fierce as an option, especially when you’re playing s.forward footsies and you bait dudes to try and jump at that range. Thing is, sometimes far s.fierce comes out, and sometimes close s.fierce comes out. What’s the science behind this? As far as I can tell, it’s a hitbox thing – you can nail your opponent with close s.fierce when his hitbox is above you and ?overlapping his head? Is this about right? Or is it something else that’ll ensure my close s.fierce comes out?
hey guys i just finished new training session that i started today , i practiced cr.lpx2, cr.mk for a combined total of an 1 hour 42 min and did is successfully 301/1000 times. is this a good start for training my combo execution with bison?
