Psycho Science: Fundamentals of Dictator and more! (Learn here)

Use Turbo and do the FADC into cr.LK and check out the timing and practice it. It’s kinda hard. I’m not doing it consistently either, I think if I’m going to FADC off a SK or PC I’m just gonna gun for a throw so I can space for new jump in combo/mixup with j.HP since it’s pretty ambiguous too.

I have just been going with the throw too, but that gets risky if they decide to option tech select

I’d love to hear from one of the guys who likely nail it more consistently. And I don’t have a turbo controller (which gets annoying when I get accused of using one cuz I can hit my cLK’s 90-95% properly)

on the plus side, I find that I can hit the cMP, cMK combo pretty consistently after jFP, which is nice cuz it’s definitely one of Bisons better looking combos

:coffee:

After trying to using fadc combos every chance I got the only purpose for me now is to use it to reset the damage by throwing which starts the cross up game, or pausing after a fadc trying to make them flinch then starting the combo again.
Its just too unsafe to try that link against any character with a dp and dont even think about it if they got 2 stocks.

Timed crouching fierce (not saying much since you have to time them all) beats it clean.

TBH I don’t feel it’s even worth using FADC in combos. Rather save it for escape/canceling away from a bad PC/c.MK xx HK SK xx SUPER.

In many situations, 3x cr. shorts into scissors is extremely worth it. Remember: the corner is where you want your opponent. If you have to spend 2 bars to push your opponent into the corner AND knock them down, that seems like a decent trade-off.

Eh, ive shown my dislike for FADC to continue a combo a lot with Bison. I agree with you in some form though, that it is situational. Although, I think it is EXTREMELY situational, like if you do it to win the round. EX bars are very important for Bison, and I value them more than a little extra damage.

I think FADC can be worth it when you go from scissors into standing lks. This way you can end with cr. mk xx hk scissors for 300 plus damage in the best situation. Bison’s best non FADC combo is double fierce xx hk scissors or psycho, but I feel that you have less an opportunity for this than the FADC combo which merely requires hit scissors rather than a jump in with a fierce close enough to get a cl. fierce afterwards.

Despite being situational, long, demeaning links will tilt the psychological game in your favor imo. It’s not a lot of damage but it feels dirty and very immobilizing to get hit by all those links from Bison and you’ll know what I mean if you’ve played some mirror matches.

Maybe this won’t hold for Sagat, but I bet most players won’t be looking at their health bar and getting salty; the salt will come from wondering when the hell you’re going to give him control of his character back, which you stole for 10 plus hits all linked together, and not only that but now he’s in the corner) One game I used my entire bar for fadcing and got in a solid 16 hits for pathetic damage, but I got this Abel in the corner and he just sat there blocking for the rest of the round (albeit doing a great job of teching my throws), ended up doing stupid things before that I never saw him do like wakeup ultras, random falling sky, etc… That might be a momentum I would have lost without the FADC. I also gain that execution intimidation factor which is also a big part of the game and reading your opponents.

I got a question…
If we crossup MK and try to go into a combo, can we get DPd out of it right after the MK xup? I got class in a bit so I cant try it out but if we can…that would suck. Big time.

Me and Sanford will be in Arkansas November 13-15th at the little rock game convention.
I Hope you guys will be able to make it there.

If the crossup j.mk was blocked, then yes, you can be dp’d. 3 frame startup ftw.

Wow…looks like its time for me to learn a new strategy. Id assume in serious matches people would mash out DP (pros do it, dk if they mash it or its just well timed) so I gotta find a new form of offense instead of constant crossups.

EDIT: Or maybe just block after going for the crossup if I notice they are doing that.

It doesn’t matter if they “mash” or don’t mash, the effect is still the same: they have to guess when they use a dp. There’s no way they can dp you on reaction, because you can always choose to block.

On the other hand, don’t change your strategy unless your opponent proves he can beat it consistently. If it’s not consistent, you have to judge whether it’s because they are guessing wrong, or because their execution is off. Or maybe he’s baiting you. Mindgames!

Bison… step it up

Anybody else had fun with auto-correct Ultra like me today? Caught like 4-5 Ryu’s with Ultra when they were trying to jump in on me for free!

but how? :wasted:

bison hasn’t had anything new to do for a while…I think I’m going to look at frame data tonight and see if i can brainstorm anything. Rog has that option select, Blanka has jab into ultra, and bison just has the poor man’s juggle with hell attack. it’d really be awesome if something about bison was discovered before SSFIV but that’s just wishful thinking.

watch in six months we’ll all be GOD tier and never have to try again. PSYCHO UPPERCUT!

I posted an cr lp, into cl.lp /ultra option select in the option select thread. As soon as I wake up tomorrow I am getting a dazzle and will make a copy to post on youtube.

whoa didn’t catch that. im excited, good shit guru.

Question: What are the best times to do a Bison Warp? I’ll usually do it when I’m backed in a corner, or trying to get away from a rush.

Honestly those are the two worse times you should do it. When an opponent is rushing you they have the tendency to keep going forward and catch your teleport or it just resets the situation. In the corner it would put you next to your opponent. I use it sparingly and almost always backdash on top of it or you can double teleport. Honestly experience is going to be your guide. I really dislike his teleport in this game.
