I still cant see this match being very good for rose at all. Not like it’s 7-3 but still fucking annoying. Low fierce whiffed completely thru gief j fierce quite a few times point blank. SSF4 :looney:

I would say it’s a slight advantage either way.
I haven’t had trouble with Gief since regular SF4.

Ever since I’ve been trying to adjust my playstyle accordingly since yesterday’s experience, I haven’t really played many Ranked Battles, so I have no videos to show in regards to that today. I apologize. However, I do have a video showing mirror matches between myself, and hnrfp:

I need work on mirror matches, because I haven’t really been exposed to them that much (I rarely face any other Rose players offline, or online). Great matches hnrfp! Those were fun, and I learned a couple of things in this match-up (I think I’m going to prefer U1 against Rose for now).

Really good input for the Guile matchup, I know it’s in Rose’s favor but I mess it up every time :D.
Using MP reflects instead of the LP absorbs seems really smart, I usually try to absorb a lot and always end up with a lot of meter that I don’t know how to use (ex sparks do almost nothing against him), then I try to get in to land a super and get raped in the process 
Reflecting as they walkforward is amazing.
absorbing is only good full screen and EX Sparks do help in the match up lol.

EX sparks help if Guile gets aggressive but if he just spams sonic booms not so much, most of the time he can block it after it goes through his boom.
And landing a super on him is just hard and nerve-wrecking. If you look at the videos you’ll notice Sabin never ever uses LP reflect even at fullscreen, except when he decides he has already lost that round and wants to build some meter for the next one.
i still cant get why its in rose’s favor, maybe i jus suck at reflecting. it always ends up being a long drawn out battle…
this match-up is all about patience and guessing. you also need to stay put on the ground. a good guile player will change the version of his booms so you should anticipate when he does or when he wants you to reflect them as a bait. don’t use sparks unless its ex to hit or to push them back. you also need to build meter but its better off to reflect them to keep guile under his own pressure.
Agreed (as I’m typing this, I’m about to face a Guile player online lol), you have to be patient, and let him come to you. You build meter a lot quicker with Soul Sparks, rather than the Guile player with Sonic Booms. If both of you keep playing the projectile game, Rose can win this alone. Also, poking a lot to bait out his uppercut works really well. His uppercut has poor recovery, and it’s really easy to punish. Don’t try to come to him, because he’s going to have anti-airs ready if you do so. If you do approach, do so through the ground. Use reflect and her slide to close in.
Also remember that pretty much every drill (and slide) that doesn’t hit with the very tip is unsafe against Guile, since his flash kicks have crazy horizontal range (if you try to bait one at close range and backdash, you’ll find out it can hit you despite the backdash).
On the other hand, he’s completely defenseless against crossups, even badly spaced ones. And you can slide under sonic booms at ranges where the slide hits Guile.

I think I’m going to take a break from playing Ranked Battles. I’ve gotten too frustrated today with a lot of my losses, and I don’t know if it’s because I’m trying to change my gamestyle, and it’s just not yielding results that are in my favor. I try not poking too much, but I end up not punishing a lot of my opponent’s moves. Other times, I poke too much unfortunately such that I get hit by an Ultra. I can’t seem to find a balance. I could tell that my frustration has really gotten in the way of some of my games. I need to practice offline and work on a single aspect of my gameplay one at a time. I’m tired of the right moves not coming out, such as doing Soul Throw when dashing forward, or just not connecting c.MP with a Soul Spiral afterwards. This has cost me games. I don’t know if this is simply an online issue, or not. I need to relax and calm my nerves.

Oh, I thought you said that I was poking too much, so I needed to stop doing that. That changes things. I’ll have to watch out for the empty pokes in that case.
