I was so glad you put the hurt on that Balrog cos he headbutts every 5 seconds. First match he timed them well to punish dropped combos then after that he just went headbutt crazy. I loved the pressure from you with the U2 in every fight!

Here is another one. I could have won this, but I was having trouble understanding the Blanka matchup.
I’m having a couple of issues against this character, so if anybody has tips against Blanka, please be so kind as to share. I don’t want to go to Evo and face a random blanka and lose… lol
Also, what is everybodys take on U1 for this matchup? I seriously think that if you ever need U1, it should be against Blanka.

Damn Krayzie, why’d you walk yourself into the corner at the start of round 2 against Blanka? You gotta stand your ground. You’re fighting the corner as much as the other player. DJ Vest seemed like the type of player not concerned with preserving meter when he thinks he could use it, so I think it would be better for you to play up close just so you can wait for him to burn it.
s.MP from a distance is good as a bait tactic and a counter to EX Straight ball. Blanka’s Slide and straight ball are probably Rose’s biggest problems, so when he has meter to force you to approach him, you should take baby steps, or really anticipate one of the two (though slide is often unsafe on block).
Above all I think your pressure game needs work. Don’t take this the wrong way but here [media=youtube]WpmaNhchKus#t=5m11s[/media] it looks like you were just pressing buttons. Some attacks provide frame advantage, but not enough where you can continue to maul a player who is willing to fight back.
Get some attack sequences down like c.LKx2, slide, throw. Or mix it up, do a c.LP after the slide then throw. If not throw, then combo/cancel into a safe drill, or sit and block to bait stuff out. I saw you do an unusual attack sequence: jump-in, c.LP, s.LP, c.LK, s.HK. I don’t think it’s a bad sequence, just pondering its’ efficacy.
Anyway, keep in mind that Blanka can’t pressure like Rose can (unless he can do s.LP xx electricity), so that’s one of her advantages in the match by design. Watch out for empty rolls into throw though.
I used to get frustrated at the Blanka match too (sometimes I still do) until I stopped trying to play keep away from Blanka. At the end of round 1, it might have been better to dash in than dash out. When you dash out, you automatically raise the other player’s suspicion of your next move (fireball, yeah?) making it easier for them to react to. But if you dashed in, Blanka would be less prepared for your next move (if any), and most likely would think he’d still have to fight you rather than wait for the easy win.

Believe it or not, I went into this match knowing I didn’t have much of a chance, and that goes against everything I believe in.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with my general pressure game, but most definitely against Blanka due to the fact that I have no idea what to expect. I don’t dash appropriately because I don’t know what im expecting, I don’t know what to punish, and I don’t know what punishes me. Shoot, I didn’t even know his U2 hit twice until somebody told me yesterday at casuals, nor did I know it punished fireballs.
I actually got some quality time against a Blanka yesterday and I learned a few things.
What I need to know is how to punish Blanka appropriately, what my disadvantages and/or his disadvantages are. I also need to know what ultra I need against this match.
It’s tier whoring to use a solid mid-tier character, at best? Darn.
Damn yet another Balrog. Scary one too. I did not even know that Blanka U2 punish fireballs. Same way yesterday I tried to Super a random Ken that did full screen U2. The Super went right through him lol.
I’ve noticed everyone saying to use U1 on Blanka and I’ve been trying it but I don’t really get what I’m meant to do different with it. Maybe I can ultra a straight ball on reaction but can it punish blocked straight ball? The jumping balls I always fa because I have trouble blocking the right way alot. Is that wrong of me?
Anyway I can’t say anything about your play cos you have played Rose for months and you are on a local scene in Cali with alot of pro players. All I can ask is for more vids against Blanka, Rufus & Balrog from you guys.
I looked at the PS3 Rose rankings yesterday and everyone from this forum seems to be in the top 100 with over 3000 PP. That means you guys go on big win streaks. I want to be like you guys someday. :tup:
I wonder who is on top for Rose in ranked, or any character for that matter. I haven’t touched ranked since the 2nd day. I got all 3,000+ points first night lol. I felt like a dick using rose when everyone was using new peeps:rofl:
Anyway, if you block a Blanka ball STANDING, you can punish with U1. I honestly don’t even rely on landing it because a half decent Blanka won’t do random Blanka balls and will focus on hop pressure. It’s nmore of a scare tactic than anything. Just like using U1 vs Hawk so that he can’t jumo or do hawk dives. ANd yes, you pretty much can’t throw fireballs when Blanka has U2. It also shits on crossups so you gota play it EXTRA safe when he has that ready.
I’ve been wanting to try U2 myself vs Blanka to see what I can do with it.

I’m sitting at 2500 PP and 4k BP with her now Mr. Flowers. Not that points matter all that much, but I’m still salty because i’m making really boneheaded mistakes and losing games cuz of them. You would think that I’d be used to not having a reversal to always use on wakeup by now after using Saks.
I know what you mean J Dash. I’ve been throwing out more ex Spiral than I ever did ex shou. I keep forgetting how easy that one is to punish. Right now I have 2700 PP. Never had more than 2800 PP with Rose so far. I get annoyed in ranked and I only play on it to see how high my BP will rise before it begins to fall. Just got to B rank now. Also I play ranked to make youtube vids out of some wins. I mostly only play Endless, Team Battle and Tournament mode though with friend list guys with maybe 3 slots for randoms if nobody’s really joining sessions.

I thought he was on PSN? I just watched a replay of his against a Blanka last night. I was pleasantly surprised to see one of his replays on the recently added list. Saqs destroyed Blanka the first round but ended up losing the match.
I didn’t know you could check to see who has the most points by character! I’ll have to check that out. I just broke 9000 last night, so it would be nice to see where I rank. It’s not going to be very easy getting higher than that because when I search for “same” or “more” skilled, it usually tells me there are no matches that meet that criteria…
Out of all the Rose’s I’ve played online, if points=skill, RoseSFIVAll56 would be at the top. He’s too good for me. Although, I haven’t played Saqs, or Krayzie Bone. I think I’ve played Metroxylon in a random ranked match a long time ago. I don’t remember if he even used Rose.
I guess this is an appropriate thread to ask this question in, and hopefully it isn’t a stupid one: How can I upload saved replays to Youtube or just get them on my computer?
