Nice tricks, you just can’t actually do any of those in a real match except that combo into Ultra, which I’ve never actually seen anyone do in a match :razzy:
Good stuff Luffy.Im super late on your uploads. I like how you used HK, i have been trying to use it myself but have been iffy with as i have gotten srk’d every now in then when using it. Your vids have shown me some better places to place the move.
I noticed you were using cls.mp for some of your cancels, was it for more power or just your finger moving to quickly and the same thing with FR.Mp you got a couple of AA’s with was that on purpose or did you think he had landed and where just starting you combo?

sure you can. I do HP spark vs wake up all the time (after back throw) and can hit confirm it into an EX spiral at least. Sometimes done it with HK Spiral even. I also do LP spark into sweep/slide vs gief’s lariat. It’s kind of a prison making gief decide to get hit by a sweep or a spark, or spark then sweep when he tries using lariat to dodge projectiles. watch for EX hand though.
Also Luffy, are you consciously following up a CH slide to combo into c.MP vs that Sakura? I CH slide combo into c.MP by accident, or luck of the spacing, but you did that twice in one, set it looked like, with one of those incidents being a very impressive combo. Something tells me that’s just easy to land on Sakura though.
And ChronikalZ, how come you’re using LK to reset and not something more damaging? I’m also curious if those resets only work after a point blank FA.

Different utilities in different matchups but gimmicks are gimmicks and shouldn’t be used too often anyway.
As far as I know nobody’s ever done that Ultra combo before? I’ve not seen matchplay or strategy footage of csMK xx EX Spark FA2, Ultra when the opponent hasn’t been cornered. So for it to work when Rose is the cornered character or midscreen on some characters might be new?
By the by, I’ve found two more characters besides Cammy that you can hit midscreen with that combo: Abel and Dhalsim. The timing for them is slightly later than it is against Cammy however.
And I couldn’t seem to hit Ryu, Zangief, or Sakura when doing the cornered-Rose variant.
The bitch of the HP Spark stuff is that it works best on Sagat, whom it would never be safe to do it against. I’d have to find my original post where I listed everyone HP Spark -> cMP works on but it’s a short list midscreen (everyone eats it in the corner if I remember correctly). Some characters who would fall prey to it have very strong reversals that will be easy to pull off since the Spark is so telegraphed. When you’ve got people in the corner though you get some really neat stuff.
But good example with Gief. I need to add a couple more things to the vid that are technically difficult or tough to do by myself. Hopefully I’ll have more in the next week or so.
I did it on purpose, i was testing some other AA outside c.hp. I noticed j.mp against vega walldive is godlike… the vega player couldnt izuna drop me at all. While a j hp or j hk can get thrown :(.

I like the idea of C MK to EX spark to Focus in the corner. It seems an oddity but it happens quite a lot that people try to throw you when they get you cornered (at least some Ryu players do this to me as I’m arfraid of juggles there). A S MK evades throw and is not bad as a move by itself… might be a great way to punish throw attempts like this.
Yeah, csMK is a big part of my game as of late. And for some odd reason it does less pushback than any other normal that combos into EX Spark so it’s the only move where you can get that EX Spark -> FA2 when they’re not cornered.

I just tried to lame him out. It’s hard to read the time but I was trying to get some timed out rounds. There is also some funny shit that happens because of KDZ. Gotta love the break.
haha Guile’s the one who’s supposed to lame you out. Iunno why he was throwing slow booms the majority of the time, that’s free food for your meter which you should’ve taken advantage of. I liked in the last round of part 2 he was starting to actually chase his booms to get you to at least think twice about reflects.
Good stuff overall. Focus dash through booms is pretty hard to get away with.

For some reason when I play Rose at tournaments I end up playing real aggressive. But I know he plays real patient and smart, he captializes on other peoples mistakes. As long as I didn’t make huge mistakes I knew I had a chance.
I posted that video of him vs iluvu, LI Joe at a Battlefield Arcadia tournament where he makes Joe look like he never played Guile before. I suggest people watch it. It has definitely changed my idea of gameplay in sf4.
I got nailed with the Live ban but I attended a bar tourney last night (top 16 in a 59-man tourney) and got all my matches on tape. I’ll start uploading once I see the results.
Found out from a friend of mine that works at gamestop that they’ll take back your xbox…they don’t check to see if the systems mac address is locked when you trade it in so you can at least get some money off towards a new one…also the hdd isn’t banded either…just the systems mac address so you can keep that as well…
I’ve had a friend who got banned in that also. While the HDD is not “banned” all the data on it is not usable on another system. If you do it will report all your save games as corrupt. You have to wipe the drive if you want to use it with another system.
