EX Spiral is so sexy. After that 2nd round, did Ryu use ultra as a frame trap, or just scrubbed out? I got caught with that chip twice in a row once, and both times I tried to ultra, but some reason it ended up blocking. Maybe I just did it too early.

Tournament match. I remember making the decision to backdash, for some reason I thought I would die from the chip. I could have just blocked and won…
Anyway, this is pretty much how I like to fight Sagat, except a few things:
should have jumped less
tried to absorb too much near the end
didn’t focus
Otherwise, I had it. Cajunstrike is good. He’s “ITS_THE_R” on PSN if you want to try and catch some games with him. I had more trouble against the Akuma/Rufus player at the tournament, Frank the Tank or “ActionFrank9” on PSN. I beat his Akuma pretty easily, but I have no idea how to fight his Rufus. Somebody do that and up it for me, I’ll paypal you $5

I’ve been going to local events a lot lately and have been making quite a showing each time, so I’m excited to have more stuff out there shortly.
Great vid PWS…i’m assuming that’s how the block string is used…i never really did or used them because I never knew how…the small “important” things are just now hitting me…i usually play from reaction and it’s only getting me to about 3K in champ mode…guess i need to learn these things then…

For those Sagat matches to use more focus, either for defense or offense. Say he wants to hit you out of the next poke he sees, but you fake him out with focus. If he’s not safe, it’s your combo. If he FADC’s, you can hit him then backdash, or just back dash.
If that guy knew the match up, he’d be punishing your blocked cross-up into jab with uppercut. It’s a hard block string honestly. If you cross-up too high and think it’s safe, you’ll be eating humble pie.
Along with that, try going from cross-up/jump-in to c.lk into c.mp>spark/spiral. There were a couple times I saw Sagat start blocking low after your second blocked jab. Right before you c.lk’d.
When Sagat has ultra, lay off the heavies/pressure. I saw he caught you with a EX TS out of Piety… that could’ve been so much worse.
Try comboing into your specials more. I mean out of one jab, one comboing poke (like counter hit c.mp), the anti-grab kick. Anything to maximize your damage output.
Conserve your meter more. FADC is useful no doubt, but I wouldn’t spend it to chip somebody out in the first round. I prefer supers; which seem very applicable to your play style.
In all honesty, I don’t play completely how I recommend. These are things I want to incorporate into my game more, really. I am, by no means, better.
Hey Chronic, you took 9th or so in the tournament right, any footage from that/harder fights? I think you’ve won every match I’ve seen you upload.
I didn’t tape anything from that tourney except the money match. I know my match in the stream probably got recorded, I’ll ask for it.
All online best bouts I’ve uploaded are the best matches I recorded at home. Why upload 50-100+ matches if I can just upload the best ones (no need for people to see scrubbery/constant delay, lag spikes, etc…). But there are matches of me losing (offline):

Those guys are my KOF buddies. I try to make time for everyone, depending on games to be played (except MvC2). A lot of people who know me knows I don’t take SF4 as seriously as I do STHD.
