aren’t honda and fei nearly the same character except Fei has rekkas instead of hands after c.LP, is quicker, does less damage, and has better ways to bypass fireballs without jumping or needing charge? both are scary, and it’s hard to say if I have seen any high level Rose vs Honda/Fei. I don’t check PSN/XBox online replays either, but that might be a possible good place to look. if only the in-game replay browser had an actual search engine, it’d be more reasonable to browse.
I think Honda’s pokes are a lot more effective than Fei’s against Rose. She’s got to pay attention when weaving in and out because of Honda’s st.HK which will hit low. At around cr.MP to st.MK range Rose has to worry about Honda st.HP. Anything closer than that, she’ll have to contend with Honda’s cr.LP, which she can’t really beat. Fei actually has slower walk speed than Honda. As for ways around fireballs, EX Chicken Wing is just too slow to use reliably unless one’s reactions are completely on point. Otherwise it’s a free EX Soul Throw for Rose. I think the worst part about this matchup is that Rose just can’t consistently punish Headbutts.

ok here is mine from yesterday need c&c on this, im really having a hard time against chunli player because of their insane pokes and range of kick I use u1 for this match.

There’s not a whole lot to say about this matchup. You just need to better at fundamentals. Learn the range of her pokes and practice whiff-punishing them. Reflect her fireballs but watch out when she has U1 charged or is in range for Hazanshu. Keep that in mind when you’re throwing your own fireballs as well. Don’t end blockstrings with Spiral or Soul Spark if Chun Li is charged and has Super stocked. React to Hazanshu with FA or U1. Watch out for her j.HK instant overhead and her frame traps with cl.HK and Hazanshu.

just helping out. questions, let me know.

Nice to see Uryo messing with Rose
Woohoo, I finally have something to post.
0:09:30 vs. Ryu. Sloppy because I just got done mashing buttons with Cammy.
0:15:00 vs. Rufus. Still learning this matchup. My opponent doesn’t really play Street Fighter, so it’s not a super great example of how the matchup is. On top of that, I’m ass at this matchup.
0:42:00 vs. another Rufus. This one gives me a lot less respect and is a lot more random, and therefore gives me a lot more problems. Pure BEAUTY at 0:54:00-ish. Oh U2 <3.
1:32:00 vs. Playing To W1n(One of the best Dhalsims out there.) Somewhat of an ugly set because it’s on PS3 and we’re both used to 360. It sucks. I know most of what there is to know against Dhalsim EXCEPT how to get in. Lots of shitty guesses and randomness from me. feat. random Ant shit-talk for some reason.
2:02:30~ vs. his Ryu. This gets put to a small window in favor of Vampire Savior training mode after a while, so you’ll have to squint if you want to watch it past the first couple of matches. I play a lot better in this set.
Criticism/compliments/insults always welcome. :>
Also, please excuse my FloeFace when I play. :> What kind of cruel monster thought of the player cam idea.
Mental pretty much said all that I wanted to, but I left a comment on the video/Youtube itself.
The Chun needs work too, she shouldn’t have died/gotten hurt by all those Soul Sparks. You were lucky that she didn’t really Ultra/Dash Ultra through your attacks.
Doing a Hosenka juggle from EX legs mid screen (unless it’s gonna kill or corner carry) is a rookie mistake as well.

Haven’t played Rose in a while, but now that my wrist is better, gonna shake off a lot of rust. v2012 and make-do vanilla (lol vanilla reflect lol)… the latter when I had no choice but to play @ the nearest mall. Execution derps everrrrrywhere.

The convo I c/p’d in Facebook is definitely the current state of one of my alts.
Why did you pick Ultra 1 when you weren’t reacting to Fei’s jump-ins with it? Also, you need to learn your safe jump setups. I know you’re a Rose main so I don’t need to tell you how she seldom gets solid knockdowns. Take advantage of them.
It was a dumb day, pretty sure I shamwow’d many a chicken wing before, but it wasn’t clicking with me then. Def not going to forget it again.
I might have someone to help me with the balls setups though, so I might be learning more of that too.
I see. Derp happens. And yeah, gotta learn how to put those balls to good use. For sure.
This Fei…was ex rekkaing me… was that suppose to punish my backdash because it never worked. Maybe there was input lag or did he not know what he was doing?
Cammy, think I did some nice footsies… stand hk is more useful than I expected when spaced right
EX Rekka isn’t reliable for catching backdashes in most situations, ironically because its startup is too fast. It will catch FA backdashes in safe jump situations though.
Fei is not one of the characters you want to slide against. It’s too easy to punish with cr.LP xx Rekka though that Fei wasn’t able to do it. Also, you should be punishing Fei’s 2nd hit Rekka (it’s -8) with cr.MP xx Spiral and his 3rd hit Rekka with cr.HP xx Spiral.
Against the Cammy, I think you should have punished harder. Throwing her after a blocked Spiral Arrow just isn’t worth it, unless you were going to go for an Ultra 2 mixup or a safe jump, which you didn’t. Also, take advantage of those hard knockdowns when you get them. I suppose it’s understandable that you didn’t because safe jumps become stupidly hard to time online. Still, something to keep in mind. Finally, you backdashed way too much in the end. Don’t corner yourself. That’s your opponent’s job, not yours. Stand your ground.
