I got this game on friday and took it to practice mode and it was great then i got online and had the laggiest match ever, worse the SF4 and it actually had my internet capability INREASED since the last time i played SF4.
I played three games of online play before deciding it wasn’t worth it.
Just to clarify, NAT1 = Open ports without router, NAT2 = Open ports with router, and NAT3 = No open ports. So NAT2 should is what you’re looking for if you’re going through a router. You can plug the ethernet cord from your modem to your ps3 for NAT1, don’t think it will help though.
That’s what I do xD. The netcode as it is now is pretty terrible. The input lag makes it hard to do any juggles and the majority of the players i’ve faced are either Law, Bryan, Lili, Lee or Eddy/Christy players who spam the same moves over and over again. It’s funny when you beat one by being the superior spammer. Really hope they fix the lag with the upcoming patch.
It’s awful… I can’t even play against my friend who lives about 5 minute walk from my house away.
It’s impossible to react to anything, and it makes it worse because mostly everyone I’ve fought online are Eddy/Christie, Steve, Law, Lili, Bob or Feng mashers. I’m really pissed off because there are local tournaments coming up soon and I havent actually had a chance to get good at the game.
I have noticed that it is not as consistently bad as most people say it is, for me at least. Lately, I have had very playable matches with people that have orange connection bars- I am able to bust out all my juggles and not have to really mash shit out. For a good while, I thought that the game had already been patched.
Man this netcode is so shitty. Offline I can nail all of my moves, combo’s and punish unsafe moves accordingly. Online I can’t do anything. I try to juggle and the move comes out 1 to 2 seconds after the input. I’ve only had 2 matches at the most where it was actually playable. Namco fucked up big time. They took so long to release this game yet the netcode is shit. If they don’t patch it I’m just going back to VF5. It sucks because I love playing t6 and I have a friend who’s great comp.
I decided I’d rent Tekken 6 before buying it, thank God I did. The first time I got online it was so laggy it was unplayable. I must’ve played against 3-4 mashing eddy’s or christie’s, it’s so terrible. There was literally a 2-3 second delay in the inputs. I figured maybe I needed to install the game first, but it still doesn’t help, the gameplay online for me is terrible. SF IV plays alright, MVC2 perfect, tekken is just straight garbage.
The 26th, sweet thats my b-day. And rinoH I feel your pain almost everytime I play this game online. I won’t touch online until the patch comes out. Hopefully it helps a good deal which I doubt
After the patch, the online is vastly improved. Even with yellow bars, it’s still very smooth! I am so happy and I am finding it hard to get used to playing Tekken 6 online without relying only on lag abuse moves.
All of the matches I had last night were superb, this is now my new crack.
We ought to start having tournaments now, fereals!
^^^Yea I’m loving this patch. I can actually land my juggles and do my ewgf. Been playing with Hwoarang now a lot more and I’ve gotten pretty beast with him now that I can land moves and use spacing. Before the patch it felt like my character was under water with weights on their hands and feet.
It still is laggy as mud. Granted it is not quicksand laggy but it still is laggy. I’ll stick to playing offline. Maybe when the new Tekken comes out they will take the online portion of the game seriously and do it right.
yea… i tried the new patch online and its still pretty bad. i mean its a lot better, but its still unplayable in most cases. i only get set up with red bars and sometimes cant even connect to another opponent. maybe its just me. -shrugs-
its better than DRO now but still a step or two back from SF4. not bad.
As long as I play with a wired connection the online play is excellent. Very little to no noticeable lag on 4 and 5 bar matches. 3 bar matches decent but lag usually slips in somehow.
