You dont even need to do the family sharing. You can just go to offline mode on steam and you can play games that are one account but multiple pc’s. you just wont be able go online with more than 1 pc.
I think for home usage PC is the obvious choice, free online, use the same stick, crossplay, costume mods, graphics options. The list goes on and on.
At this point it’s more about tournaments and I have to admit they’re right. People aren’t ready for PC, no other game besides KI will have parity with console and the marketing works against it.
PC is definitely ideal for home use. If you don’t go to tournaments its the way to go I think.
Its just PS4 is already pretty convenient since it will also be the main platform of other big upcoming fighters. PC isn’t enough more convenient to shift tourneys to PC. Plus Sony money
Didn’t even really mean it in a Sony has more money than PC sense. Just in that Sony is going to try to push their money over PC. If it’s convenient enough for TOs that’s what they’ll stick with. I don’t see TOs abandoning Sony just for the chance to go more Hollywood.
That doesn’t even make sense, what would he/she learn the hard way? PC has way more support for stuff and as long as you use a stick/pad/keyboard that Works on both PS4 and PC you’re fine.
That doesn’t make sense.
What keeps me from practicing my shit on PC, playing online on PC and then packing up my stick in order to play in tournaments on PS4?
PC offers the better experience at home. Can’t really deny that. Just the PC people that want to go to tournaments will just have to make sure they have a PS4 compatible stick. Which they may have to shell out for.
Best case scenario Capcom comes through with these PS3 drivers so most of the PC people can save their money when they go out. If they are afraid of taking money from Mad Catz and other companies trying to sell PS4 sticks then we may be out of luck though. We’ll see.
You just need a PS4 stick for tournies and you’re fine. The PSN wifi warriors are really a waste to play against and as a long time PS fan since PS1 I can assure PSN is in fact worse than PC and Xlive for online. I am not really a big Xbox fan, but the online is much better and if there is an option to disable cross play with PS4 players I will certainly be doing so. The pro’s for a PC are usually much better online, better graphics, and more convenience. The PS4 will be the tourny standard sure, I love watching Ultra tournies and seeing the PS4 menu screen after every match because PS4 blue tooth security check madness. You can do much more with a PC versus a PS4 such as video editing and just a large variety of things. My friend just switched from PS3 to PS4 and all he’s been met with is intense lag and lots of DC/Rage Quitters. Once they come with a new revision and a price drop the the wifi players Mecca will be more attractive to me. Until then I have no issues playing SF5 on a PC with an i7, gtx 960, more RAM than PS4, and better online functionality.
PC Pros: better graphics, typically better online, free online, more flexible, ease of access (i’m on my PC much more than any console), last gen stick compatibility, typically faster load times and better performance, steam chat is amazingly fun and more intuitive, easier access to stream chats and frame data/combo resources since you’re on your own PC while playing.
PC Cons: Not as portable as PS4
PS4 Pros: More portable, tournament standard
PS4 Cons: PSN, intense lag, many poor connections, mostly wifi players, paying for online access, usually slower loading times, weaker graphics, rather strict and inflexible stick compatibility, more rage quitters in my personal experience, many weaker players utilizing lag based tactics on their wifi connections in all fighters, weaker text chat, less powerful machine, less flexible.
The only reason I am getting the PS4 version is because if it is anything like SF4 on Steam then you will not be able to change your region, I travel a lot between 2 countries and it is discouraging to see people don’t want to play me because I don’t have the murrica flag, even when I have full green bars.
I’m thinking of building a steam machine and one of the perks is that you don’t need to buy an expensive windows license but will I still be able to play street fighter if I choose to go that route? Mainly building it for games like h-hour and arma with the ability to play in my living room (my iMac is in my office and I hate playing games at a desk)
