I ordered mine over the weekend. I’m invoice # 2269 I also have the billing address different from the shipping address and forgot about it problem. I emailed them a new shipping address but i’m still waiting to hear back from HORI
I just ordered a PS3 Hori Soul Calibur V joystick through the Hori Store. It was too good to pass up with the North Cal Tourney Redemption Code.
I’ve been wanting one of these joysticks since the end of January and am so glad I waited!
$99.99 for this stick was something I couldn’t pass up!
Very happy that somebody posted the code in NeoGAF. Don’t know if I’ve seen that code around here.
(AGAIN, for those not aware => PS3 redemption code = HORI12E102
XBox 360 redemption code = HORI12E101 )
Many thanks for the code and in the future keep posting these as they come up!
$50/33% off with free shipping is nothing to sneeze at.
I like saving money BETTER than spending it!
P.S. – Now comes the process of saving money for a joystick lever replacement and eventual plexi. I’m keeping the original buttons (love black rim reds) but am going to probably sell the JLF on Trading Outlet… Decision coming about which Seimitsu joystick will replace the JLF! It’s going to be LS-32, LS-40, or LS-58…
(Yeah, I know… the “-01” versions. I just use the series numbers to avoid having to repeat the “-01” business.)
I want that plexi NOW! The default artwork is lame as hell.
Just ordered, can’t pass up $99 for such a nice looking stick.
Does anyone know if it uses the same/similar pcb as the vx sa? I dual modded the vx w/ a chimp smd so I’m hoping it’s going to be pretty much the same thing for this one.
Also, does anyone have thoughts on cutting their own plexi panel?
Working on it =P. Had the case sitting around for over a week. Had I not been doing some stuff for Markman and getting some promo packages setup, I’d have done it sooner. In other words, blame Markman ;). In any case, it’s incoming.
Different PCB, but similar.
You do the same thing.
Actually, that’s one of the things I liked BETTER about the Hori Soul Calibur V stick than the MC SC V…
But, to each his own.
I’m getting a plexi to preserve the SC V as-is…
When that code expires?
It expires on the 31st according to their facebook page.
Nice thanks for the info
Post up when it happens! I guarantee I’ll place an order the second you have it.
Also, quick question: What’s the difference between the HRAP 2/3 and the HRAP 2/3 Extended template?
Non-extended is the size of the Control Panel.
Extended for HRAP goes to the first edge of Case for more art.
I’m guessing you’re refering to the 1/2 inch or so of real estate at the top of the stick above the panel?
It’s more like 1/2" all around about 1" to the top. Observe this pic of the HRAP you can see there’s a bit more flat surface around the area.

So the extended covers the rest of the flat area around the stick.

If there are further questions regarding this, please msg me or ask in my thread. I just don’t want to clutter this thread with non-related products. Thanks!
No, not above the Control Panel.
Everywhere around the Control Panel.
Well, the return/replacement nightmare is over… I hope.
It took over a month tedious back and forth to get it done but I’ve finally received my replacement as of today.
Granted, they neglected to include any packing materials of any kind in the outer box of the replacement unit, which I’m not thrilled to see since I can’t help but wonder if the near total lack of such in the first unit didn’t contribute to the malfunction of the other stick.
There are a few unexplained small nicks on the replacement unit’s housing as well as some scratching on the surface of the panel covering the top too, but meh… I really don’t care enough to deal with the ridiculous amount of time this whole process took all over again.
At least I’ve learned my lesson for next time -.-
I am really interested in picking this up as my first stick (especially since it is on sale for a couple more days from Hori). However, I can’t find anywhere online that confirms whether the PS3 version is also compatible on a PC (I want to pick up PS3 since I have most of my fighting games for it). This would be a deal breaker for me so I was wondering if anyone knows any more information regarding this.
I usually buy 360 sticks just a reason for me to tear it down and dual mod it
Based on my past experience with using the HRAP 3 series on a PC, yes, they will work with a PC fine as long as it’s an Intel CPU machine. IF you have an AMD setup, however, your mileage will vary and you will have to search for a utility program like X-Padder, joy4stick, and so forth. The problem is NOT with your controllers buttons; those will work fine. The issue is the joystick lever which you will have to find a workaround for. For whatever reasons, AMD setups do NOT register lever motions in spite of the fact that Windows will STILL detect the presence of your controller after it’s plugged into a USB port!
If worst comes to worst, you’ll have to find a third party app like X-padder and map your joystick to the directional buttons on your keyboard. You basically reprogram the hardware with the app so that you can use the joystick in place of the keyboard on games. That’s how I got the HRAP V3 SA to work on the AMD machine I have.
I did NOT have to remap the other joystick I tried – which has a Toodles MC Cthulu PCB board in it – to work with the AMD computer.
To expert modders:
Is there a way to wire the chimp smd to make use of the L1/L2:L3/R3 toggle switch? Actually I am not sure if the 360 version has the equivalent toggle setup, can anyone confirm?
