This may not have been brought up…

You can order the Hori Soul Calibur V joysticks through GameStop.com now.
It’s sort of a chore to look for them on the site, but they’re available through the “Accessories” heading on the lower left of the web page.

That’s probably how I’ll get mine. I need to get some fuel reward points to knock some dollars off gas purchases. Gift cards do work on the GameStop.com website… That’s how I’m trying to buy things online when I know they accept gift cards in addition to credit/debit cards…

Why is the Xbox button layout different than the PS3 button layout?
Why is the Xbox button layout different than the MadCatz button layout? Shouldn’t this be the standard Soul Calibur Button Layout? It is nowhere close to the SF/MvC3 Button layout.
I don’t want to open to void warranty.
Why is there no keyboard slot on Xbox 360 arcade stick like there is on PS3?

MS mandates the button colors on every licensed controller. That’s why the wacky pushbutton colors are there. It looks ugly but if you want to keep MS happy you have to follow their mandates.

As for the other stuff, different games have different button layouts so it goes for different controllers, too. They’re not all the same. Most of us stick to the SFII button layout. A lot of us swap wires on the buttons IF the buttons are switched around for specific games.

Most people will NOT buy multiple controllers and want the greatest flexibility between games. Not many people play SFIV with a MvC2 button layout!

There are also going to be differences between PS3 and 360 controllers depending on the whims of the First-Party companies. Couldn’t specify why the difference in USB slots… Could be they expect gamers on PS3 to use some option more than 360 owners? It’s usually the 360 players who get the extras!

Dude, I just dont understand why Madcatz makes there product using the Soul Calibur V layout for xbox, and hori does it for PS3. Then they re-make the wheel on the Xbox version to a layout nobody has ever used ever. It makes absolutely no sense. I don’t like rewiring/re-mapping for every title. I could, but that wouldn’t make sense. I don’t like breaking warranty. My Qanba is fine because it’s layout is standard for nearly every title. On this game, the layout makes zero sense whatsoever.

Has anyone tried a USB thumbdrive in the headphone/keyboard port of the PS3 stick? Are these ports implemented as a standard USB hub?

Should work just like a USB mouse does… Some keyboards have a USB slot for the mouse, others don’t… Plug it into the keyboard or do a direct connection to the computer. USB = USB and does what USB does.

In other words, shouldn’t make a difference where that thumb drive is plugged in. The PS3 should read it. I can’t test it out since I don’t own a PS3 Hori Soul Calibur V stick but there should be more than enough USB bandwidth for both the joystick and thumb drive.

The only times USB has never been fast enough for me is when copying large files to thumb drives or hard drives. USB 2.0 just wasn’t made to transfer Gig-size files.

It should work that way, yes. I’m looking for verification.

Well… I sent back the e-mail with the form I was supposed to fill out over a week ago.

I havn’t heard back from anyone at Hori.

Now, so long as the date the process was started is already documented, I’m fine with it. What I don’t want to happen is for Hori to say my warranty has ran out because of whatever is taking so long for this to happen lol.

Though, even though that ought to be another 60 days, at this pace who knows haha.

On a more serious note… do I need to fire off another e-mail at this point or what? I know it ought to take a bit of time, but I would at least think I would have heard something since its been more than a week since I sent the other e-mail.

Edit: Well finally, 10 days later, I have a response e-mail. Now let’s see how long the rest of this takes =/

Dear HORI,
Would it be possible to make a Xbox 360 version arcade stick with the standard L M H Street Fighter button setup, instead of the blazblue version, cause everygame uses the standard setup except blazblue and makes it annoying to remap all buttons for all the other games, just a little thing… lol (and yes u can open it up and change it, but then the art with have the wrong button names)

send another email, it took them bout two days to reply me just to tell me their warranty doesnt cover overseas customers. It shouldnt take more than a week for them to reply you.

A little off topic here, but is anyone else tempted to get this because its something other than just another “TE?”

Hi there has any one had there fight stick replaced by Hori usa warranty returns/exchange, I preordered my SCV stick from Hori usa directly and when stick arrived it had deep and light scratch on art panel and around case, I emailed them same day they responded very fast asked me to take picture of damage and forward it to them they replied the following day that they will do a warranty replacement and that it would take 1-2 weeks to process, well its been three weeks since they got original shipment back and I keep emailing them for status on replacement but I get no replies back. One week of contacting asking for status and getting no response back is bad custormer service in my book this will be the first and last Hori product I buy.

How did you send the stick back to them? Did you use cheap delivery, or did you pay a little extra with at least delivery confirmation?

Makes a huge difference how you ship things and which type of service you use.

I personally don’t like to pay over $15 in shipping fees but $1 or $2 extra for peace of mind is not expensive in my book.

Bought one of these over the weekend. It shipped on Tuesday after the holiday and was at my doorstep the next day. Props to Hori on making another great stick and getting it to me so fast.

Hori emailed me a ups ground return shipping label at no cost, they recieved it that much I know due to tracking.

Any updates on your situation Vlad? Just wondering since they finally have my stick back too no thanks to UPS missing the original Friday delivery.

I pretty much can’t continue practicing my other teams without it, given that certain things I do are pretty dependent upon being able to use my stick.

I was hoping to have it back by my spring break so I’d actually have some serious time to play for a change, but that’s looking grim if your situation is anything to go by =/

Well I got the replacement took them a month, there deeply sorry for the delay and blame it on them being swamped in the warranty department or something of the like they should have just sent out a new order instead to save time as soon they receive and inspect return. But all is good now got replacement looks perfect and works.

Yes, but I also liked the case design, artwork, and button color choices for the PS3.

Hori really needed something other than just another HRAP V3 artwork alternate to grab people and so far it’s working. (Would have bought the HRAP V3 SE if it had been offered in the US, though. Will NOT pay a $100+ premium to own an Amazon.jp alternate or Hori.jp store exclusive, though. The currency exchange ratio and shipping aren’t favorable to non-Asian nationals, now…)

No-brainer for me. Prefer this Hori SC V stick over Mad Catz’s Soul stick, too.

Am planning on getting a Mad Catz V.S. joystick when I can afford it, too. Possibly pondering a Qanba or Fightstick Pro purchase, too. The Fight Stick Edge is an almost definite buy if it gets a US release.

The new stick designs coming out this year are more diverse and very nice so far.
