PS3 SF4 owners PLEASE READ THIS! (NAT settings in post 21)

yeah hahahaha i msged this guy to install the game after playing him

then he replied: what game?

I said SFIV it reduces load times a lot

he said: oh cool. how?

I’ve had the exact same conversation. Word for word that’s how it went…

weird…

Lol. Installing right now 6am. After reading so many hateful things about people who don’t install.

w00t. Ty for install advice would have never guessed @.@

The game should automatically ask you to install the first time you play it.

That is the problem. Most people don’t even know there is an install option since it is hidden away in the options menu where most people don’t bother to venture.

I’m going to do this as soon as I get home. Thanks for the tip. I didn’t even know you could install games (I just bought a ps3 for sf4).

my router has the option of fowarding ports, or enabling dmz mode. i cannot do both. which should i do? or does it not matter?

Set the router to DMZ - what it does is allow all incoming and outgoing traffic to the ip address you have set up. It negates the need to port forward or allow firewall traffic.

i still get to play people who have not install their games!! Damn it’s shitty to play them . . lolz.

I played 1 round without installing, but as soon as I saw the load times I remembered that you could install it and did so immediately. It really is annoying while playing online when someone doesn’t have it installed. I think Capcom should make it mandatory if you want to play online.

That pink text is UNREADABLE. Also if I have my ps3 DMZ’D do I still need to foreward ports? I thought all ports are forewarded when DMZ’D.

Question?

Why do I lag so d*** much in SSF2THDR and SF4? So many dropped games (hd remix) and so many 1 sec choppy lag games (SF4). What am I doing wrong?

  • I have my router set to DMZ mode (PS3 shows I have NAT 2 and UPnP disabled)
  • My router is an AirLink AR525W model (never buy this)
  • PS3 is wired
  • I don’t lag in MGO, COD: WAW, and Warhawk (games I could test online)
  • Lag/disconnects present about 80% of the time (even if with people with yellow or orange latency)

I have my PS3 DMZ’d and all those ports forwarded correctly. Yet, I’m still NAT 3. Any ideas?

I agree with the TC x 1000000000!!!

Seriously people, how hard can it be!? Do you all what near instant loading times instead of the long dreadful ones?

Cuz PSN sucks Moose Cock.

Im the same mate. Ive set router to DMZ, installed latest firmware. Router is wired up. Still laggy crappy disconnections on SF4 80% of time. Fifa 09 is laggy as hell. WTF!!?? Is it me? Is it my internet provider? Is it PSN? Im at a loss and very mad

ok, Ive got a problem as well… i dont have a router, i have a Siemens 567 Modem and theres no firewall that i know of and for some reason i have a NAT 3… i didnt have this before i dont think. just recently actually. i tried doing what post #21 asked but the router part cant be done cause i dont have one… any ideas?

That’s very helpful of you. many thanks for sharing us the info. will setup later after my class.

Do i need to do this if ive already set it up as DMZ? Should i do this instead of DMZ? :looney:

thanks, Bob

thank you for sharing some awesome info :lovin:

Hmm, I live in Savannah and my internet connect suffers because I’m in a newly developed area. Hopefully this’ll fix it; gonna tinker with it now…
