PS3 Desktop Solution?

Okay, so I’ve purchased a second PS3 for my desk (g/f has fallen in love with Little Big Planet 2 and Hulu Plus so I did it for the sake of the relationship). Now I need a good storage solution. I have a 23" LCD, PS3, and a stack of about 10 games, one controller and an arcade stick I want to keep on the desk. I’m looking for a good storage/organization solution.

Here are my ideas so far:

  • PS3 Vertical stand/charging station, small game storage
    or
  • Monitor Riser with PS3 underneath, combo game storage/charging station

What I’m looking for is maximizing a small amount of space, so I’d love to see your setups. (pics are welcome!)

Again, looking for desktop solutions, not home theater setups. =)

NOTE: If you have a good universal solution that you’re using for a 360 instead, post it, maybe I can get ideas from it.

Buy some dishes for her.
Use that big box that 26 piece dish set came in.
Profit.

For your ten games I suggest the “stack” method. Lay each game on its back, and place another game in the same orientation on top of the first; repeat until all games are “stacked” vertically. This maximizes the desk real estate. It is portable, so you can also move it to the closet or another room entirely.

If you can’t help but get fancy, there is also this new method:
[]Divide your games into two equal groups
[
]The group on your left is the “fuck” group, the group on the right is the “shit” group
[]Start the stack with a game from the “fuck” group, then one from the “shit” group, and alternate
[
]You take some fuck, then some shit, then some fuck, then some shit

You’ve got a fuck-shit stack
Ah yes the old stack method… In deed a very viable option for you

Thanks for the… help…

Sorry, too much… coffee?

I actually keep my 360/PS3 behind my monitor, since otherwise a lot of that space is going to waste. The desk is large enough for a sizable CRT (and originally held one), but with today’s LCDs being so thin there’s a bunch of extra space back there.

The monitor is mounted to a Neo-Flex LCD stand that slides up and down in height really easily, so I just slide it up to plug stuff in.

The games I just keep on a bookshelf… and in various messy stacks all over the place, tbh.

You can use some shelving wood and screw in some 4 or 6 inch legs to act as a riser for your tv, then place your boxes and or ps3 under there. Since it’s not fixed on your desk, you can move it around if you decide to change your table layout. That’s what I did since it looked like a good idea while looking at desks at Ikea.

What I did when I used my computer monitor with the PS3 was to buy a Fellowes monitor stand, remove the drawer, and put the PS3 underneath.

Looks good, any ideas about game storage?

have you considered just keeping the boxes elsewhere and moving all your games into a cd sleeve?

I’m not really the one to ask about that. My games are scattered all over the place.

Move the other PS3 to the kitchen?

If you haven’t given her a tiara, DO IT NOW!!!

Man, I thought this topic would be much more awesome than this. I thought you were actually wanting to put the PS3 guts into a Desktop PC case. So boring…

Anyway, for anyone suggesting cramping it into such a small space, enjoy that YLOD.

I’m married, so can I choose both?

You’re trolling and you don’t like sex with women? Is that a side effect of marriage? =)

Back on topic… someone point me to a cool looking 10-16 PS3 disc case storage system that will look good on a desk. I can’t find any, it’s either 36+ game towers or stuff designed for blu-ray cases or DVD’s.

Thanks, though I should have specified… I actually (for some reason) want to keep them in the cases…

I feel that there is only one feasible solution in this difficult case.

Build a head to head arcade cabinet!
