So I’ve been thinking. Mike Brown could still have been shot from behind. Depending on how someone is running they can get shot in the hand with their back to the shooter.
Actually if you listen really closely there was a gap in what she saw. First she said she had to get her phone. Then when she’s recounting the events she said she saw a struggle, saw a chase, then, “HEARD” shots, and then saw him shoot from the front. That’s most likely when she went to get her phone. He could have put his hands down after getting shot, or even shot at once. If I have my hands up and someone’s shooting me I don’t know how I’d react, but maybe I would charge them. It’s like, if you’re going to shoot me anyway I’ve at least got SOME chance to live if I run and try to kick your ass.

If your kid is getting tear gassed you probably made a bad decision as a parent or guardian.
I can understand the community coming together and all that, but given the nature of the situation I feel that taking a minor out to a protest, especially one so young, is pretty negligent. These protests have routinely provoked violent responses. People have been gassed, arrested, and shot. There has been physical violence and looting. That’s not a good scene to take your kids to.
When I read that a child got gassed like that my first thought was “Why was that child there? What were the parents thinking?”. Whether or not the police were justified in firing the tear gas to begin with is beside the point. If I was having riots in my community the last thing I’d do is take 8 year olds out with me to protest.
