The police chief has stated multiple times that the officer who shot Brown was not aware that Brown was a robbery suspect.
Edit: If thatâs the case, the officer must present a reason why he got into a confrontation with Brown in the first place. As of right now, there is no evidence to justify the use of deadly force.
Edit 2: According to the police chief, the reason why Brown was stopped in the first place was because he was walking down âthe middle of the street blocking traffic.â Keep in mind that the street where Brown was walking and gunned down was a residential street and not a major roadway where thereâs a lot of traffic.
WTF. I coulda swore on 3 links i saw this morning that they said he was an officer called to the scene. Maybe he never made it there, and i just interpreted that wrong.
Never mind. I guess i read too fast, or some page said it incorrectly. I see now that the officer didnt know he was a suspect. Well there goes all that typing i did earlier. Still not a good look
WOW. Glad to see more witnesses. I mean it was in the middle of the day on a saturday in a suburban neighborhood. I couldnt imagine dying like that. To have no idea that day this is your end. You grow up seeing and reading about it, but to catch those hoe slugs, plead for your life and give up only to catch more hot ones and die. smh
Thatâs not it. Sabu was the leader of lulzsec, a âhackerâ group related to Anonymous. lulzsec was a bunch of script kiddies who craved attention. Anonymous is a bunch of anaracho-social-justice warriors, who admittedly actually know how to hack. Their only common link is 4chan. I remember reading AP wires that said that Sabu tried to get Anonymous to give up their identities but they realized he was full of shit instantly.
Some media outlets confuse the two, like Fox News, which seems to openly think of two as identical.
Of course the racists will use the stealing of the cigarettes as an excuse to say âthe issues is dead.â Yet now, even after the robbery it comes out now that Johnsonâs telling of the incident was the truth. This shit is going to get real ugly folks.
-OK itâs vent time.
I am sick and tired having to defend the anger of the people who are responsible for the protest and riots. The worst of all are the people who say âwhen some black guy kills another black guy, why donât you guys riot?â
This isnât even ignorance. No, the person who asks this question is fully informed about the events of this situation and fully understands the reason why they are angry and even they recognize the suspicious elements of this murder. No this is far worse.
These people are trying to derail the conversation about race because it is something that they donât want to hear because they have their own prejudices. They then follow up by saying shit like âwait until all the facts come out,â then follows up with any reason why they could have shot that kid, and try to downplay the possibility of it having a racial component. Then they go out and talk about the deficiencies in the black community. Then they talk about âblack people always playing the race card.â They give the cops the benefit of the doubt, while burying anything that is the least bit suspicious about their behavior, but they side with the copâs official statement and ask âwhy was he fighting in the car with the cop over his gun?â without questioning its authenticity.
I just want them to say the obvious:
âI know why you guys are rioting and yep I know this cop shooting this spook is probably unjustified and I am well aware how racist these cops are, but you know what? I donât care. One less nigger on the streets as far as Iâm concerned.â
I think the plus side of this whole story is that now people are finally discussing the elephant in the room that is police departments being way too militarized and the rampant abuses of power that go on these days. At least people and news outlets are finally facing facts and talking about the issue.
So if anything Mike Brown didnât die in vain. Itâs a shame that it took him getting shot though to spark the conversation.
CNN knows that the officer didnât confront Brown because of the robbery. But CNN is continuously talking about and showing video of the robbery. The story coming from the authorities is inconsistent. :bluu:
The âelephant in the roomâ is whether the shooting and killing of Michael Brown is justified or not. No matter what the police chief is saying in regards to releasing all the information to the public, the use and justification of deadly force should be the main issue here. Certain media outlets are focusing their reporting and âanalsyisâ on the robbery and the riots (social issues) than the actual shooting that lead to the death of Michael Brown.
There is no progress to the family of Michael Brown when the police department claimed they released all the information all media outlets need to know when all they did was release information on the robbery and not the shooting.
The police chief stated that the information released to the media and public is all that we need to know. Sure there are social issues within the community/public sector and systematic issues of the criminal justice system (which is important and in being addressed and looked at by other politicians, Congress, community leaders, etc.) and how the Ferguson police department is run, but they (Ferguson PD) are dodging the main issue that started this entire thing, which is the officer involved in the shooting and death of Michael Brown and whether the use of deadly force is justified or not.
Where will the family of Michael Brown look to for national and worldwide support if everyone focuses on the de-militarization of local police and the whole case of their sonâs death gets swept under the rug by the media? Ferguson PD isnât providing information on the shooting.
