well doesn’t hurt to try, at the very most I will waist about $5 for extra wiring and quick connects. Plus I loathe soldering, I always manage to burn myself. well thanks for replying.
But you used the stock wiring and quick connects for the stick. If the stick works fine, they can’t be that crappy stranded or not. The way you did it will probably last you a lot longer though,…So your probably right.
Great mod! I’ve been looking at this stick for a while, as well as others, as a cheap enclosure to mod. I was leaning toward this one because it looked bigger than the rest, but I couldn’t tell, until I saw this thread just how big it is. Judging from your pics, I estimate it’s about 16-17"Wx8-9"Lx2"H (is that about right?)
Kudos on the use of Candy Apple Red, it looks great! If you don’t mind I have a couple boxof questions on the paint. I hadn’t thought of painting a plastic box, because most plastics can be difficult to adhere to unless you use a primer that melts itself into the plastic. What type of primer did you use? That looks like true candy paint with a metalic base coat and transparent red. Did you use automotive paint? Is it lacquer or enamel based? What did you use to spray, an airbrush? Sorry to fire off so many questions at once, but I’m intrigued with the idea of painting the box.
Trace the wires. That said, I believe that it’s the exact same layout as the Paewang PCB.
I don’t have it around right now so I can’t measure it. But I’d say that it’s close to that.
Spray paint, all spray paint. RJ London grey primer and RJ London Acrylic Epoxy for the paint. The red is actually Yamaha Red over a Metallic Silver base coat.
Thanks for the info! I’m not aquainted with this brand, and at first I didn’t think it was available in the US, but after searching, I see that it’s available online, and quite reasonably priced! Thanks!
