Project Magenta 2017

Use a blow dryer on the actuator to heat it up a little. Some loctite is most likely holding that in place. You should be able to remove it easily after that or you can try leveraging something like a screwdriver behind it to pop it off. The only thing that’s really breakable is that magnet, but you were able to get that off so you should be ok giving it a little force if you need too.

Thanks for the tip, it was a relatively painless process. I stuck a flathead screwdriver behind it and it popped right off.

Hello, back again with an update. The suggested fixes unfortunately did not work and more unfortunately I believe i may have stripped the screw. Seems like I might have to give up on this one.

Open a support ticket with Paradise and they should be able to help you out. I don’t think they monitor the srk forums.

Use support@paradisearcadeshop.com and we will get things taken care of when people are back in the shop on Tuesday and Wednesday

Obviously Paradise does “monitor” SRK.

@armi0024 How you been?

Also I need to stop sleeping on the Project Magenta.

May I order a MAGENTA link shaft directly from you guys? I can’t locate it on your website.

Are there any available “il lorenzo” magneta kits available? If so or so not, how would i obtain this as ive seen its been done.

Sure about that? Best way is always to contact paradise through their web page or the email address armi posted above.

I bought the new Brook Wireless Fighting Board and the 5V DS3 battery that powers it isn’t enough to power the Magenta. What alternatives do I have?

Perhaps a battery with a better maH (milliamps per hour) rating

Also the DS3 is a 3.66 volt battery and you want something at least 5 volts for the Magenta

So i have been using the Magenta Joystick so far im liking it. The only downside is, is ordering from USA and i live in the EU The Netherlands 99 usa dollar for the unit + shipping around 50 or 60 usa dollar + customs around 50 usa dollar thats a heck of a lot of money for just a stick. Ive read somewhere that there where plans to distribute it in EU by a vendor?

Because i would like to order another one but spending another big amount is not a great idea.
Is there any news on distributing it in the EU? Because if im not mistaken this was said a while ago but no update…i think there would be enough people in the EU who would like to buy this stick as well but refrain from it since it cost an arm and a leg ordering from USA…

Good vendors with good reputation and ships all across EU and even international would be:

Feedback is welcome or maybe another solution to dim the costs?

Look into parcel forwarding services. I’ve use them frequently and it’s basically a flat €15 to ship from the states directly to myself via courier. Nowhere near as good as having a European seller of course. The cost is what’s holding back from picking one up too.

We have started with some discussions about selling in Europe, and will likely continue to discuss this in the upcoming months.

Actually the battery is sufficient to power a Magenta but there is some hardware tweaking that would be required to work with the lower voltage source. It’s a bit much to go into details in the thread so send me a PM if you’re serious about doing the conversion.

I see thanks the sooner the better!

Something else is the Magenta Joystick compatible with the NACON Daija Arcade Stick?

is this capable of a removable shaft. ? interested if you could use a phreakmod detachable shaft…??
thxs

Any update of this being available in the UK or Europe?

Finally got my new stick so I’m looking to mod and have a few questions, if that’s alright? It’s my first time doing any mod other than switching stick, springs and buttons. I did search but couldn’t find answers to the following.

  • Has anyone put a Magenta into a Hori Fighting Edge PS4 using the included pcb? Could you let me know how?
  • If not, I do have a Brook UFB but no EZ mod, could anyone link a guide/log for installing one into the Hori FE?
  • As the case is screwed shut I am considering getting a Siren for profile control too. Has anyone used it with a metal case?

Thanks in advance

Update - no response from PAS but got the magenta in and working-ish…couldn’t get any output from it until I turned the little brass disc (the one that the magnet sits in) over, seems as though the magnet was too far away from the board/sensors, maybe missing a washer or something?

So, it’s working currently but without the recess the magnet slips a little and catches on the edge of the board. Got to look for another washer , I guess. Can anyone post a photo of the disassembled shaft parts so I can see what I’m maybe missing?
