Project Leo: Sixaxis + Wireless 360 dual mod

I still need to test it hooked up to a 360 controller and then a third pcb like the PeeWii. PS3 works great.

Cool cool. Let me (us) know when you’re ready to start selling em!

seconded ^^

I’m having a weird problem with my leo. I used some 30 gauge Kynar for my wires. For some reason, the connection for my start button cuts out. I’ll desolder the connection, strip some more wire, resolder, and it works fine for about a day. The next day I try it, it doesn’t work. I may try replacing the wire altogether, but I wonder if there’s another spot to solder to in case I managed to burn the terminal off (or it’s shorted out)

just follow the trace.

Will do. Other than that, it’s workin like a champ. Can’t wait for teh artwork to get finished to show the end result.

I’ve got 2 more projects I need to get started this month, so I’ll probably need to order 2 more leos and sixaxis PCBs.

Any updates on V2?

looking forward to your new masterpiece

oh hey guys, check first post

Looks fantastic

Lets see some tri-mods, people!

Good shit gummy, the stacking is a fantastic space saving concept. Well done!

I like the nice pictures so I can figure out how to solder mine up properly! Can we still order directly from you? I’ll need another one pretty soon…

You can order directly from Gummo, correct.
Also, thanks for the comments on the pictures, I spent some time making them.

You can add these pics also if you want, joystick rotation:

Pictures are definitely uber helpful. One question though: I noticed there wasn’t a USB connection to the PS3 PCB. It looks like there may be one of the top side diagrams of the cord wiring pictures, but nothing on the bottom (flipped) one. It should be obvious you’d need to connect the PCB to a USB for charging/syncing, but it may need to be more implicit if you’re doing one of the dual mods, especially the wireless jobs. I suppose plugging in a USB cable or soldering to the USB points on the PS3 PCB could work.

Than again, anybody attempting this probably has a few mods under their belt and can figure that out…

its best to just use a mini usb cord to plug into the sixaxis and then cut the other end to wire it up to the switch.

Agreed. The other end can then be used on the Neutrick (or whatever else is being used to connect the stick). Did that on the first mod, didn’t have room on El Guapo

Yeah that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. Mini usb cords can be bought at the dollar store.

I’m gonna have to start checking the dollar stores in that case! Either that or stock up from cables at Monoprice

Yo Gum quick question, are you still able to hook up the regular lithium ion battery on pcb without the AA or the AA is a must? Thanks

You can still use the regualar siaxis lithium ion battery instead. BTW its not a AA sized holder. Its to fit the 18650 series lithium ion cells which have a bigger battery capacity than the sixaxis’s battery. The holder will be part of the kit, but will not be soldered to the board unless you tell me otherwise.
