Finally finished my baby and let me tell you… …Gummowned is the MAN.
This has become my favorite stick. The Leo board works like a charm no hiccups or anything just followed your tutorial to a T and everything worked perfectly.I wanted to go with a 3PDT switch but it turns out that my local ratshack only carries SPDT & DPDT. O well, cant win them all. You were right about burning off the contact pads when removing the triggers, I found out the hard way how right you were. But not all was lost I traced the pad with a multi meter and found the alternate spot. Again thank you very much the Leo board is the best thing that ever happened to arcade sticks since sliced bread.
If wiring LEDs, would it be better to tap the 5v from the usb or the 3.7v from the battery? Besides being dimmer, what advantage/disadvantage would there be going with one over the other?
hey Gum, are you gunna be at the Game Frog in durham either this weekend 16,17 or next weekend for the tourny on the 24th? im interested in getting a ps3 dual mod on a 360 TE
If hooked up to the 5v usb, then the leds can only turn on when you are plugged in. If hooked up to the battery, then the leds can turn on when plugged in or not and even if the neither controller boards are turned on.
So if I run it to the 5v, I’d have to have the USB cable attached to the console? That kind of defeats the purpose. Well, to the battery, with a switch in between to turn them off.
by wiring the anode and cathode of the led1 for ps3 to the anode and cathode of the led1 for the TE. Repeat for led 2,3, and 4. Do the same for 360 but for the second row of leds on the TE.
In your setup, do you lose any buttons? All 8 buttons + Select and Start buttons? what about the Turbo function? Lastly, where does the joystick function as? (Analog, or D-Pad)?
His stick has all 8 buttons, start, select, and home. Turbo functionality does not function since the original TE’s pcb board is not being used as a controller. The joystick functions as the d-pad for both systems…
I just did a dual wireless mod for a client’s TE. I wired up the leds of the 360 pad to the leds around the guide button. For ps3, I wired them to the top row of the turbo leds. I don’t know what method the-red-comet went about, but I doubt I’ll make a guide to do this as I had to desolder the guide button leds to flip them around and resolder them (plus a few other changes to the te board). I ended up killing 3 of the original leds and had to get some more off some dead 360 pads I had laying around.

I can’t wait to get my stick back from you!!! Kinda feels weird to see my stick’s video being posted up. Dude, you’re awesome! Awesome job on using the turbo button as the wireless sync button forth XBOX360 side. My fingers are itching to get my hands on the sucker! I also like the switch placement as well. Great job!!!
Thanks for the great work! I’ll be sending in my other TE stick!!
I finally got my project soldered up and it works, lights and all. Sort of. The stick will control either system with the flick of the switch, so I know the data lines are correct, but for some reason I can’t seem to get it to charge thru the usb jack I installed. I need to have a look at the wiring tomorrow after I had some sleep to make sure I didn’t screw anything up. I wired the positive battery terminals and the 5vusb leads to the dpdt switch. I used the wires I soldered to the contact points on the 360 pad, but used the other end of the usb cable to connect the sixaxis. I wonder if I need to either go on and connect all 3 5v lines together without using the switch and/or solder leads to the sixaxis pad instead of using the usb. Any ideas?
Funny thing is the battery will charge if I have it connected directly to the sixaxis or the junction block, and the lights will work either way too. But it will only charge directly from the sixaxis…
I can’t thank you enough!!! I just got my stick back today, and have been playing with it for last 3 hours. First line of business was to replace the ball grip to a bat top. Then the spring mod. Dual wireless works flawlessly! I was also amazed at how freakin large the battery was inside. I also like the way you’ve mapped the turbo button to Xbox360 Sync button. On the PS3 wireless side, everything is flawless as well. I couldn’t be happier!
I couldn’t tell any difference of performance between the wireless vs. wired. No lag that I can see or feel. Able to pull off combos, recovery QC based moves flawlessly everytime.
