i think each time you play a character for the first time you get a color or taunt, and the second time you pick the character you get the other. I guess the trick is to set it to human vs. cpu and start a match then exit back out? I’m not quite too sure on how to do it.

Yeah just start a vs battle against the cpu, as the match starts pause game, go to change character, rinse and repeat.

thanks Zac again for hosting.

GGS everyone, had a great time there, hopefully we’ll do it again sometime soon

sorta unrelated, and I know I dont exactly have the best winning percentage around, but I thought I’d share a little bit about how look at this game (or everything in the world for that matter). Everytime we do or not do anything, there’s a risk involved. And we do or not do things in this life in order to maximize our ???( I personally call it utility, most people just look at happiness). So there’s always a trade off.

Anyways, so here are a couple of book recommendations

This book is my favorite book of all time, in some ways my bible. It is a history of the human race’s attempt to deal with risk, or uncertainty. In my opinion, every high school should create a course and make this book mandatory reading. While it doesn’t actually teach you how to do it, it gets you thinking and noticing things around you and start thinking about how to manage your choices.

another one of my fav’s. This next book also deals with how to manage risk, but it also talks about how the author thinks. Its really entertaining and have a lot of funny stories. highly recommended.

You don’t have to exit VS to get the colors/taunts, you just keep playing. They even show up as usable you just don’t get the notification until you exit VS.

Utility! Bentham & Mill in the heezy!

I think that ethics is an amazing field. It probably gets overlooked a lot, just because people don’t think of philosophy as something that you can apply in your daily life. But yeah. Just incredible, guys.

Utilitarianism has always really appealed to me - the straightforward idea that you should try to maximize the benefit of your actions seems really well-grounded and well-thought-out. I definitely do find myself considering the (predicted) consequences of my actions to be very important, so that’s another mark in its favor, personally.

Virtue Theory has also held a certain appeal to me as well. For me, it has strengths in all of the places that Utilitarianism can seem weak. Placing importance on cultivation of virtue as a habit seems quite applicable and effective, and a sense of individual responsibility that I can see might not be compatible with utilitarianism, generally.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, though.

If you don’t exit though it won’t save for when you turn off the system.

The fuck is this doing in Preppy’s thread? Don’t make me get all Deontological on yo ass.

Sorry I couldn’t make it on Friday.

Thsi is true.

But really, why would you be turning off SSF4? That’s just madness…

XD

I think you can start the match, go back to Character Select, start the match, repeat repeat repeat, all without playing any full matches. Maybe.

I kept wandering downstairs but the SSF4 line was always beastly. Good work peoples.

Is there anything Starbucks makes that you would want Preppy? I don’t recall you being all that hyped about coffee but I can probably get some tea or something too.

Thinking about doing something this weekend for a pre-evo training. Figuring out schedule based upon a friend who’s coming to town. =P

Sounds sweet Preppy.

MARVEL.

Will see if I can make it lol.

dear preppy i would love to come shall I bring a 3litter hawaiian punch? and some canada dry = )

Lord knows we could use it. The lack of practice sessions is astounding.

If you had something, I’d show up! :clown:

where were you yesterday?!?!?!?!?!?!? :razzy:

I’ll be there if it happens. Preppy’s > all other seattle video game related sessions. Well, the scrumbles were always pretty dope as well.

Dude. Gradius III (composure and clutch 101) practice sessions at the Bunker all day, every day. Where you been?

No Gradius V?
