I must be forward and let you know that any more advice that I have already given you will cost you money and seeing as how you don’t like to give away your money, then I guess you won’t get to know what I know. Although my advice I would be giving you is a suggestion that exhumes any ambiguity, it is just a suggestion and not a fact. But if it makes a difference, in the competitive gaming world money matches are positive for both parties even if you are on the losing end of the battle.
I don’t know you at all and perhaps we will get to play each other at least once in some sort of video game. I’m not saying that I will beat you as I am only good in about one game at the moment, but even if you lose you might just learn something from our match.
After the first two ST tournaments in '07, you proclaimed yourself to be the second best ST player in the state of Washington. It was around that time that you offered to MM anyone from WA with your ST Cammy for any amount. One or two months later, I accepted the challenge after playing ST for a week, and you deflected with some deprecating joke.
But yeah, okay. First to 10, for $300, against your ST Hawk. How’s Wednesday for you? I pledge not to post the results without your permission. But let’s get the ball rolling on this.
Money Idol Exchanger is fucking awesome. But… The person playing through on that video isn’t very good at it. I just wanted to warn you. There are some people out there who play MIE with fucking NewType potential.
I even happen to know that Macker’s real name is Billy Bob Sakata. I’m not even making this up, it was on the MIE drama CD.
Anyway, so… I guess what I’m saying is I’ll take your fucking money.
How are you not specifically going against every single goddamn thing I stand for?
You realize of course that people pretending to be tough about video games is dumb, right? And that people betting money on games in tough economic times is kind of dumb to me, too?
When was the last time you ever saw me accept a money match?
When was the last time you ever saw me accept a money match and not just coincidentally lose it, dropping money to someone I liked as a person?
Fuck anybody who thinks video games are hardcore.
My place is a place for Friends to play video games. It stops there. Don’t speak for me if you’re going to be a dick/exclusionary to someone.
If FlashKick was a dick, that’s also unacceptable, but that seems like something between him and Riki and the kind Mor. If anything like that WAS confirmed at my place, I’d kick anybody out of the house right then.
 Agreed I wasn’t even expecting Flashkick to accept the money match, more of me just trying to prove a point to him. I really like the new vibe of Preppopolis now a days.
The dude was being an ass Zach and I was being assertive in the sense that he cannot be super rude to someone without getting some sort of flack on the internet about it. Believe me, if I was there in the room when it happenend I would have said something then and my posting about it would have been irrelevant.
I’m not telling the guy to not come to your house ever again sir, I was just injecting that he should take a money match if someone wants to play you. I see money matches as a form of gambling because that’s what they are, cut and dry. People can attach other symbolic meanings to money matches but they are just a way to win/lose money.
I was not trying to go against the house rules Zach. I was however giving my opnion on the situation as I read about it in this thread.
If he was, and that’s between him and Riki and seems sorted – he would not be welcome back and that’s that. No need for anything further on anyone’s part. <3
For what it’s worth, I picked up a bunch of drywall screws and rubber grommets that should work pretty well for MAS stoppers. I know at least Evan lost a bunch to airport security. I think I have 12 left right now - people are welcome to them while they last. I think Evan actually needs 8 of those (?) or so, so that’s maybe four left.
FWIW, they’re:
metal bugle head drywall screws from Crown Bolt, #6 x 1 1/4
neopreme rubber grommet, 9/32
I bought out the Bellevue Home Depot of those, so give them a week or two to restock if that’s the tool store you go to.
