In all honesty, on a Thursday night at GW, there’s more 3S players there than Marvel players. There are people that are still learning the game (hell a lot of us me included), but we aren’t totally in the dark like peeps like to assume. I fuckin played Mopreme first round at Evo 2003. I had the REAL Paul Lee givin me props for my Ken which was completely random. Apoc taught me Dudley for no reason. Portland and BC have stronger/more dedicated 3S scenes than Seattle does right now. Whether or not that’ll change, time will tell. Seattle’s a Marvel city, hate it or love it, it’s the way it’s always been. But comon man, as far as I remember, BC’s never won a Seattle tourney, and I say that with all due respect to them. I always tried to watch Kal El when he’d use Dudley cause he’s dope. Portland however has won a few. I dunno though, it just seems like you take what other people say as fact and run with it.

Ok cool, ur good nuff said. But that’s what I really wanted to say was they have a much more dedicated scene because we really don’t have a real place to play 3s here. Besides GW’s ONE machine the only other one I’ve seen was in Kennewick LOL so we need to get something going eh?
A BC tourney was held last week and a Portland tourney was held a little while ago while another is in the works for next week (which I’ll be at)
We need a BIG tourney to gather all the NW players like Fatbear suggested a while back cause unless theres a worthwhile prize I don’t think everyone will show cause I know the BC guys are Lazy and the PDX guys are also pretty far away.
Oh yeah for all those who wanna know I don’t regard myself to Cali’s Paul Lee. He’s chinese and I’m korean, if ur a chinese or korean FOB you’ll know what I mean LOL

Is it the eternal curse of the NW section, no matter how long it exists, to have random people who have never been anywhere or played in anything to come out of nowhere acting like they’ve been around forever? Canadian CvS 2 players, Seattle GGXX players, random Portland peeps in various games (not all Portland players in not all games), Tacoma Marvel way back when (might be strikin a nerve with that one!), etc. Everyone who posts in here either plays or has played fighting games competitively, at least to some extent, but if you think that there’s a chance you don’t know what you’re talking about then there’s a good chance you really don’t. Knowing about a game isn’t knowing a scene. For the new people that are trying to get people to play 3rd strike with them, or whatever game, you have to remember that you’re coming into a pre-existing scene. That’s not just a fighting game scene but a group of friends. These thigns have been goin on at Zach’s for a minute, before anyone cared about Third Strike, and it’s fairly likely that they will be going on once people stop caring about Third Strike beause, believe it or not, it will happen. There are those of us that remember when there was a time that you couldn’t mention a Friday or Saturday night in Seattle and not mention playing Marvel from 5 pm to 7 am. Now? I would be willing to bet that most of us couldn’t tell you the last time they played Marvel. Is it really likely that Third Strike will be different? Marvel faded, we’re still friends. Trying to muscle your way into the group of friends by asserting your value through games is going to create nothing but resentment and irritation most likely because, and think about this, who are you really?

ugh some of these new NW 3s players seem like nasty as shit, chocolate rock and the old gimmick accounts coming back though is fucking ownage. FF3 is tight. I may have to get it myself so that I can actually beat it. I knew there was a reason I didn’t have one of these devil DS machines. Frank/Sean- I’ll be leaving for Snoqualmie in about an hour, but if you give me a cell phone call , it should be pretty easy to get it back to you.
