Street Fighter IV Sakura Match Videos

Hope this is helpful:
http://streetfighterdojo.com/sf4/characters/sakura.html

It’s a page with links to matches with top Sakura players.

As of this post, it’s all Justin Wong Sakura videos, but I hope to add other videos as I collect them.

Looks better. In my opinion, anyway. Also can xx super…on the rare occasion that you get one…

The only thing I can think of is you don’t have to worry about spacing at all (almost). If your c.mk hits, you can continue with sho, whereas continuing with lk.tatsu won’t always work.

Yeah, but I try not to fall in love with it too much because some characters have a good wake up game such as Ryu. It works surprisingly well against Sagat though. Sometimes when they’re anticipating it I try to jump over them where they’ll miss their shoryuken.

haha nah i never seen that video before but yes “I’m the Boss”. As for the shoryuken, I dunno i dont follow any damage scales i kinda just do what i think looks cool and mix things up. I saw some of Poongko’s videos with sakura, wow I would love to add some of his moves to my arsenal, i dont think my mind can ever compute that fast though. but the way he links his tatsu’s is sick

i dont even know what im doing half the time. kinda just freestyle and try to think without thinking. especially when I know im being recorded or watched i tend to “do too much”.

I did her EX shoryuken after I saw Cammy’s ultra. I didnt know if it’ll go through but it did. It’s funny one time i did it through Zangief’s Ultra SPD. The other guy was like BULL! haha. But i believe with Gief i did it before I saw his Ultra coming. One of these days I’m gonna experiment in training mode to see how invincible that EX shoryuken is

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. -Bruce Lee

Your post reminded me of that lol. If you have no preset patterns, your opponent cannot predict what you will do. I guess this might be more appropriate in the Fei Long forum ><

Great vid

1)Had opportunities for damage than what you had done.

2)Also throwing the Ex Dragon Punch on wakeup was kind of bad, and during the Chun Li match he had several instances to block it despite it going through the fireball and take the round.

  1. I saw several other wakeup EX Dp’s by you which in terms could have been bad if your opponent would have just blocked.

  2. Last but not list that combo you got against ryu on the dizzy (c.lp, s.mk, fireball, FADC, s.hp,l.tatsu, c.lk, ex tatsu) as much as I would like to say it looked cool, and you could have done more with it. I really don’t want to lol, i mean you had a chance to just end the round on the dizzy seeing as how you had your super. ( Ex. “Dizzy” FA, c.lp, c.lp, c.hp, f.dp, super - OR - FA, c.lp, c.lp, c.hp, l.tatsu, c.lk, f.dp, super) Even then however I feel a simple FA, s.HP, f.dp, super would have been simple and just killed him, which would have given you the round without have to take that risk with that health you left the Ryu with.

I mean I’m not trying to get you down or anything. Just something I saw could have possibly been done better. overall GG’s tho hehe

yeah, i’m not that good there’s a lot of improvement i need to work on but I wasn’t really playing to win, rather playing to improve. One area i would love to get better on is the footwork and quickness because I think that’s where sakura excel. and it’s cool say anything ya’ll want i usually don’t get discouraged, i just get motivated.

That’s the phrase I always use on my friends, “Be Water, my friend”. honestly i don’t really know a lot of the SF strategy, terms and slang that goes on around here. but thanks for the tip

I don’t remember saying all those things

This was posted in the “wat the hell? Is Sakura a viable character?” thread. It’s the tournie SaBrE won with Sakura. Just thought I’d post the vids here since this is the vid thread:

good shit sabre!!!

Opps my bad. Although I registered on this site a long time ago, I’m still pretty new to posting. I’ll edit it later

This probably a complete nub question, but why does the character select screen look like the arcade version? Except with Sakura?

It was a prototype version

And a prototype sakura.

I found a match of me at the C3 team tournament when I was playin Sak.

pretty good, i’m still bad at using Focus attacks. Got any tips or exercises on how to properly use it? if an opponent blocks while u FADC does that give em enough time to counter? and is it possible to FA while they’re jumping in or is that blockable. yeah i know i’m asking a bunch of amateur questions i jus dont know when to use it

I’m trying to switch up my game and add the lk tatsu’s into my repertoire. but the main reason why i use a shoryuken instead is because of the success ratio. It’s like layups, i make em everytime. And plus i can jab right into a shoryuken effortlessly

Here are a couple vids of some casuals with FYC GAMBLE.

Constructive criticism is very welcome. Thanks in advance.

Sakura is sick and I think she under rated big time

Does that whiffed lp shoryuken cross-up on a knocked down opponent work every time? Do you use it fairly often?

Well the crossup isn’t what’s important. It’s a double meaty setup. After I knockdown with a dp, I always hit lk tatsu because it gives me good timing for a meaty low forward -> whatever. If the low forward whiffs, then I know they didn’t quick stand and I have time to advance. I just use the lp shoryu because it gives me meter and the meaty timing. Crossing them up isn’t significant in the long run because once they understand it’s a meaty setup they’ll just block the other way.

The thing about Sakura’s focus is she crouches really low, so her hit box shrinks down with her.
