Personally I’ll do an Ultra straight off the bat or after an FA on a dizzy because I’m not 100% confident that I’ll land it after EX Shunpuu I have a feeling that FA3 > Ultra would have netted less than your combo in that situation, possibly less than an Ultra by itself too x_x;;
Keep up the good work
db Sagat was lol! Seriously! Fun to watch
Noobex you won’t be in G2 for much longer =P
Duuuuuuuuuuuude. When I don’t get anything past 6 on sakura, I start to panic and consider just playing balrog cause default works.
Like, not literally, but the thought ALWAYS crosses my mind.
I have been playing again for about a week. The people here don’t want to play t6 cus they get frustrated so I’m forced to play SF4 again lol. I know you missed my banter!
Get Orlando hype for January 30th Tournament down South in Ft.Lauderdale, we’re going to stream 5v5 South vs North or MIA FTL ORL TMP 5 each
You guys I really need help. Right now I feel so shit.
I’m still in G3 on xbox and I decided to do Champ mode yesterday and get to G2. I swear hardly anyone in G3 now is G3. I played this viper guy twice who knew all the ways to link ultra and all the knuckle cancel mix ups.
I played a ken 3 times who could footsie really well and all his combos were 10+ hits.
There was another Sakura with 207 GP who beat me 3-2. I felt like jumping out of the window. He sent a message saying, “Cool sak bro!”
I replied, “You aren’t G3 are you?”
He said, “No I’m G1 on PC but just got this game on xbox.”
I fought him again and won the second time. I didn’t underestimate him the second time.
Anyway, I have some vids from sparring with a G1 Ryu from the other forum I go to. He made some mistakes getting used to his new stick. As for me… I need some pro help.
Its time I got out of the dark!
Please please give me anything I can use to get better. I’m desperate to win now and I can’t seem to get there =/

just watched the first half of first vid.
after forward throw, ur in ideal range for meaty lk cross up use that. (same if u got a down in the corner cross up will always hit if meaty)
and don’t use cross ups when the enemy is standing, it is to easy to evade.
u need to work at ur cross up timing to
if u are not sure tatsu will hit use lk tatsu, that is at least much safe then mk or hk
I think most the people in G3 now are the people who don’t play it frequently or just got it on that system.
I’m not seeing any link combos, after jump ins you should be doing c.LK > c.LP instinctively.
Use forward throws for cross-ups and “fake” cross-ups.
Counter-poke c.MK xx Shou make sure you’re attacking in front of their feet.
Close range counter poke with c.LPx2 that way you can link into Shunpuu.
Meet him in the air with j.MP, j.LK or nj.MK.
Know the range of your jumps, if you overshoot don’t attack and throw on landing (since he’ll probably try to throw you).
Don’t throw out random EX Shunpuus, if you want to break Focus of FA happy opponents use HK version.
You weren’t punishing as hard as you could have been, HP SRK on block should be HP xx EX Shunpuu at the very least. Also saw some botched/missed combos.
That’s all I can think of atm Also switching to Sagat, very disappointed in you :nono:

Some casuals between me and my brother. Please let me know what you guys think and any tips you have would be great. Thanks.
never do hados midscreen. i would recomend only use hados full screen.
and never do hados against abel, chun or ryu (when u play against daigo xD) with a full ultra bar
some combos lack i would say ur execution is 7-8/10 times
doin FA in jab/throw range is a bad idea imo
at the end of the 1st round in second video:why u follow with jHK?otoshi would win the round, without the risk of gettin thrown or reversals and get knocked down…sakuras heavy weakness is->she has no reversal (except exSRK…but it costs 3 ex bars,if its blocked)
if u get knocked down u have problems…rly,i only get raped,if im knocked down and my opponent has good mixup with wakeupthrow,SRKs…etc…
i know,u learned “otoshi is bad-reset is soo good” but sometimes (like in this case) otoshi is the better choose.
learn to have an eye on ur life/ex/ultra bar AND at ur enemies bars.decide quick what would be best decision in every case.THIS + counting stun (dunno,if u do this allrdy),will push u extreme.
if u dont want to check all the stun dmg urself, have a look at this video.it will help u with that:

if abel rolls,he is easy punishable…throw him out,or start combos.but beware for his commands!
i like then end of the first round
Thanks for wathcing. You are right about the Otoshi. I usually do a good job about keeping my eye on the health but I got caught up in the mix up and just kept it going. I’ve been playing Sakura for a little over a month and still have a long way to go so thanks for watching! I’ll make sure to apply your tips to my game.
you play pretty nice,
one thing u might add in ur gameplay is FA-> Jab dash under -> mixup (resets the combo scaling, therefore much more dmg after especially after Dizzy.)
ur lucky that ur brother fucked up every single of his FADC -> Ultra Combos.
Sorry I used Sagat. I played 51 matches with the guy and he only used Ryu!
The overall score was 30-21 to him
Thanks for the great advice. I really need all I can get right now. You’ve told me a few things I wasn’t even aware of. Now I just need to find a way to implement this techniques and make a habit of it without thinking twice.
It’s the event none of you have been waiting for, my crappy Sakura in action ~>
No need to tell me what I did wrong, I know how I fucked up but you can see how much I struggle against my pokey Vega friend. Any ideas, suggestions to counter to poke spam?
Few things to note:
c.HP was surprisingly ineffectual against his wall dives. They weren’t all properly timed but he seemed to be coming in at angles that avoided it (think he’s had practice!)
Might think I’m rather liberal with EX Shou but I just know how my friend works, can see I predicted his poking with it quite a few times.
c.MK xx Shou being blocked is because it’s very rare for him not to poke in that scenario, must have caught on to me
Yes couple of random EX Shunpuu (do as I say, not as I do :P) but most of the time I was trying to catch a backflip with them.
There wasn’t really much in the way of lag besides a couple of odd spikes, I did feel my timing get thrown off a little but probably just being out of practice etc. etc.
ouch sugami… but i know how you feel. my brother use to play chun li, but as been playin balrog for a while now. he just started to play chun again and i cant find out how to beat her. u cant out poke the chick ever, shes super safe and a great turtle character. if you throw a poke at her she can get away with ex bird kick, and if you dont throw a poke he still gets away with it lol. i think he beats me 4 outta 5 time with both her and rog. the crappy thing is is that i feel like u understand the game better but dont have anything i can just abuse like most characters. even my bro and friend said that if i had picked someone like ryu or just a good character and not sakura that they would have a lot of trouble with me. but then again whats fun about that . it was fun to see some one else do like 2 successful reset combos and then your opponent does one reversal and then one combo and its back to even…i hate it
If you are not sure about cr.hp timing against Vega.(sometimes hard when he lands on the other side than expected)
forward j.mp beats his wall dives pretty clean, if you jump forward on reaction.
else neutral jump with early hp beats it when he is above you and hasn’t attacked yet.
against Chun u have to somehow get her a knock down that is the most difficult job in this match up.
(EX Shou is good for that, since she most likely is going into a poking game, may be EX otoshi if she uses predicable fireballs)
after that you are in pretty good position, she has nothing that beats meaty wakeup j.rh (except Ultra), her best option is to block high. mix in throw + cross up -> mixup then dizzy is already near.
Heh yeah EX Shunpuu resets are the only thing I can “abuse” with my friend, he hasn’t figured them out yet but that’s probably because I rarely get the chance to do them Bring on SSF4 and we’ll hopefully be able to poke with the best of them fingers crossed I did worse with Dan, losing 0-5 when I usually have more luck with Dan but I think the matches were generally closer.
I’m usually on point with c.HP AAs but think it was a mix of rust, nerves and little lag but like I said he seemed to be getting round even the well/better timed ones quite a lot Also have to remind myself to not AA his jumps with c.HP too as they’ll lose most of the time, hence you’ll see me doing nj.MK a lot of the time but then he catches on and air grabs me
I’ve got a hard time fighting Vega’s as well. I don’t know why, but I just can’t touch them anymore. I think it’s because the timing of Vega’s moves are just totally different than what I expect. That’s why I have a hard time defending or attacking him. Pretty annoying!
