Same here, it’s not worth wasting the possible pressure the resets give for an extra 100 or so damage unless that damage will end the round.
What I wrote above was simply how I would combo into ultra IF I was going to use it.
Btw, is there a list anywhere on what characters cl.hp x shunpu, cr.hp x shunp, lk x ex shunpu works on?
I’m pretty good with this combo so I want to do it as often as possible for the extra stun.
Only problem is that I don’t know who it works on and who it doesn’t, I think it doesn’t work on shotos, sakura, sagat and zangief from what I can think of from the top of my head.
Also, against Akuma what do you guys use to deal with him teleporting out of the reset mixups?
I couldn’t figure out a good way to catch him other than guessing with a jump.
eiSH did some great testing and came up with a list of what works on who which I put up on the wiki.
The reset mixup game vs Akuma is really stacked against you because he has both the teleport and dragon punch. I’m sure you know the options and you really just have to guess and go for the option you think he’s going to use imo.
I think Akuma is one of the instances (along with Gief) were taking the ultra damage is worth it :razzy:
I guess with a jump. I would be curious to see the data on the 3 lk loop combo you posted (I think it works differently also depending on when you reach the corner in the combo), as sometimes I used to just feel it out and use it for fun, although I am not sure if it is actually better. If someone does the combo, end it with jump HK for please!
Actually I’ve been having good success with resetting gief with j.hp then doing crossover lk, seems to stuff lariat consistently.
I’ve been trying to feel it out too but that has resulted in way to many whiffed lk into blocked hp sho = Sakura dies. Why do you have to end it with j.hk I usualy do j.hp for stun/damage but I think the stats are the same on both those so do you get different setups from them?
I know that on some characters you can do a dash crossunder if you time j.hp just right.

Who is this SakuraAkuma? He puts up Sakura vids but I see none of him. Does he just grab them from the replay section on the game or what?
He’s certainly good with those Light Shunpuu links, wonder if it only works in the corner with the c.LP > c.HP xx EX Shunpuu “finish”. Don’t really know why he was using j.MP resets though. Might have seen it before too
I have broken 600 damage by doing EX srk FADC combos on the second SRK of the ex (if that makes sense). You can do things like, jump hp, stand hp, lk tastu, crouch hp, ex srk, stand hp, lk tatsu, crouch hp, ex tastu, ultra.
I remember finding that you did more damage though by throwing out that ex srk earlier so it doesn’t eat as much damage scaling. It probably even breaks 600 with a simple, jump hk, stand hp, ex srk, fadc, stand hp, ex tatsu, ultra.
Jump HK and HP have the same damage, I usually used jump HK because I found it obscured the screen a bit more for whatever reason, making the cross-under more useful (for me at least). I used jump hp when I wanted to do post ex tatsu cross-over mixups (A reset crossup front or back).
I wish yu would show us a video one day. You have alot of knowledge but I’m too scrubby to focus on alot of technical text. I want something ~I can play back while I’m in training mode.
TheSakuraAkuma is me and yeah I just grab the replays and post them. Don’t have the right leads to be able to play the game and record at the same time. Maybe when I get the leads I’ll post some vids of me, but trust me you won’t be impressed
