Just watches some of your games. You are great with the poke/block strings. I am trying to develop that. You are also goo with the FA but sometimes you do a full level 3 out of range. Is this because you are hoping they will moves closer?

Anyways think you should lay off any jumping attacks with LP, if doing vertical jumps ideally stick with j.MK and j.HK. Also think you should use heavier attacks for jump-ins more often, mainly just j.HK but j.HP also works. I saw you get throw after j.LK a fair amount, I’m guessing you were trying to follow up with a combo and your opponent thought you were going for a tick throw but due to your timing being off you got thrown instead. If you’re going to attempt a combo after j.LK make sure you get the timing down, it’s stricter than with the heavier attacks.
Think you should learn her link combos too.
(Jump-in >) c.LK > c.LP > c.HP xx Heavy or EX Shunpuu (must be close)
(Jump-in >) c.LK > c.LP > c.MK xx Heavy Shou
Also gives you more options on block; after the c.LP you could go for a throw, try a quick c.MP xx Hadouken combo or something, vertical jump, Focus Attack, another c.LK and cross-up j.LK (probably not such a good idea), etc.
That’s just what comes to mind atm, I’m sure others have more that could be added

You are quite handy with the FA. Try not to become predictable with it though and its best not to risk using it too much if you are already low on health. The j.lp move is a waste of time. j.lk beats most air-air attacks and j.mp is good for guys like vega and bison doing air specials. The otoshi finish in the second round was a good safe finish. I wouldn’t use otoshi for anything else! Except for people like gief. If you don’t know about Sakura’s mix up game after EX shunpuu then learn that quick. Then you will be a problem for most people. Nice work.
Work on more ground block strings ending with a hadou. Use lk tatsu to get close and throw. Or break your block strings to throw. Also try heavy jump ins. Only use lk jump in to cross up. None of that lp jump nonsense. Also try to use c.hp as anti air. You don’t need to block high unless its a cross up. Good stuff otherwise.
This one really didn’t go your way. I saw alot of accidental otoshi’s. I hate when this happens but it happened to you alot. The first one looked like it was because she crossed over you will you input your commands. Are you using a new stick? I’ve had this problem more now I’m using a stick. I rarely did the accident otoshi except if I tried to rush an ultra after a FA.
This fight was quite solid from you. But he had better and more damagign combos than you. I’m sure you know already that Sakura has the ability to dizzy the opponent very quickly! If you can land those combos and work on your ‘wake up game’ then you will drain people in no time like Viper just did to you. Also, I’m not sure if you do or not because the opportunity didn’t come up but practice her ex shunpu>dash>ultra. This combo is critical and is often the difference between a final match win or loss. Though if they have small enough life that the otoshi will finish them then don’t bother with being flash about the ultra. But the dash part is important so that you get both spin kicks to connect. The first two hits in a combo do the most damage. Everything after gets scaled down and her ultra is pretty weak so you want those two hits everytime.

I do it sometimes because I don’t know where the hit ends. I’m still fairly new to Sakura. Other times I do it because the fgts I play don’t move and a level 3 sometimes catches them because they think I’m going to cancel it to dash shenanigans or something. But mainly it’s because I dunno where it ends -_-;
The first vs the Chun li was bleh i have no clue what to do in that match up. The sagat i played is way better than me and ryu is tough to fight

To further what eiSH said, go do Sakura’s trials, they’re pretty good for learning her basic combos and the hard trials gets you used to link combos and such.

Question: Sometimes you land c.LK > c.LP or c.LP x2 and instead of linking into a bigger combo you go for a throw (which usually worked), why? Is it a case where you thought of throwing before the pokes and follow through regardless? I’m guilty of doing the same in that respect
Basically I’m trying to stop the other guy from trying to take the offense with those. More often than not people try to mash shoryu/reversals during block strings so I do the only true block string (jab jab type) and see if they try to reverse out of it. If they do reversal I punish, if not I throw. Though I’m not really trying to confirm into combos (which I should be doing, I’m just lazy =\
But yeah, like I stated in one of these threads =\ I was playing like crap that day -_-; I only got the combo I wanted a couple times =(
I did notice that 19 hitter you pulled on the Balrog :tup:
Pff, I wish it wasn’t so prorated… Pre-dizzy was already 7 hits deep =( Without scaling that combo does pretty decent dmg >.< Friggin’ Balrog does more damage in 4 hits than I do in 19 -_-;
