yeah…read up these forums and learn bread and butter combos
also, if they jump at you, just do cr. hp, its the most reliable antiair sakura has
if not, you can do a jumping mp air-to-air seeing as it has range, and comes out fast, but stick with the cr.hp for reliablility
i don’t even have this game yet :P, just watching sf4 videos and playing sak in A3 tells me strategies i guess
You gotta learn to FADC… and like someone else said, c.HP those jump ins. when playing cammy try to avoid poke strings (at least i do) and play way more defensive, keep the offense to only when you see openings. you also kept walking into her FAs… mk, hk, or EX tatsu these to armor break her rather than walking in to eat it.just a ocuple things…
There were a few neat things in this video but overall it seemed as if the opponent didn’t know how to fight sakura. He let him get away with a knee after blocked tastu? There is almost no reason not to throw a low jab after a blocked tastu that I can think of, it even recovers before ex shouken. At the very least backdash or something.
But if you opponent is letting you get away with all that lk tastu, he implimented the punish to the option select throw break very well. I had read about that on the japanese boards, but against better players it ruins your whole momentum to try and punish with that, whereas with a good deal more difficulty you can break guard with hit confirmable jabs and such without losing momentum, for a bit less damage. I don’t know, when I get in there, I don’t like to risk everything with 1 shot mixups considering how weak throws are in sf4.
No sweat, console characters gotta share that wealth! Saks has some pretty sweet link possibilities. Hell, you can link her sweep off of a sLP, close or far. Cool stuff like that.
Just found the one in the brackets.

Look at how many c.HP -> Tatsu’s I missed, it was a real shame. Wanted to punch myself everytime I didn’t punish his whiffed SRK with any more than a c.HP. I blame the 360 pad lol (although the red/green official ones have way improved dpads, which I used)
takari… i notice you use the 360 pad… im going to an event that may require me to play on 360 also, but i have no experience with both 360 pads or fight sticks… do you use the 360 dpad when you play? and are the horror stories that true bout it?
The 360 pad is horrible. There is no way I could take myself serious using that pad. I used to play UMK3 all the time and now have one controller (out of 4) with a working d-pad. This one controller, still doesn’t register inputs properly.
Sorta looked like Takari was using the analog stick not the d-pad.
I play 95% of the time on my PS3 with DS3 (godly controller for SFIV), but it’s very, very true for the standard, old model 360 controller (the white/black ones): that dpad is horrible.
However, I used a newer model (the red/green one that came with RE5) which has an improved dpad that actually works. I tried Fightpad as well but I just need FA on the far upperright of my controller and 4 shoulder buttons.
I would suggest you to look for the new version 360 pad in the store (they sell it seperately as well) DS3 is still way superior, but I can live with the new 360 pad as well (won me all poule matches in that tourney except one, nerves got to me in the brackets, I shouldn’t blame the pad)
ahh thanks… yeah i was using DS3 until i got drunk and threw it at a wall after losing 5 straight games to a ken doing nothing but lp shoryuken (literally… nothing, not even jabs, kicks, or throws, not even the ultra or jumping for that matter). so now im back to the old school sixaxis. im just terrified of somehow making it halfway through the tourney and then going on xbox, having no idea how to use the controller and getting perfected to elimination hahah. im really praying someone has a modded ps3 controller to work for xbox and will let me borrow it. THAT would be ideal
oh unfortunately not… the only way i can record is with my picture camera (which has video mode) and so i have to hold it while recording. thats why all my videos currently are replays of championships. im hoping to scrounge up some money to get a dazzle eventually though
I grabbed what vids of Jibbo’s Sakura I could find and added them to the site.
Please do.
Getting high quality footage for each matchup is HUGE.
And (as you can see on the site) I have so many gaps in covering all the matchups.
Thanks!
I’m really happy others are enjoying the site.
I initially made it to help me practice Dictator for HDR, and it kinda took off from there.
Now I’d like to use it to build out and support the development of the player community.
I really would love to expand it to cover tournament info (upcoming and recaps), top player bios, links, etc.
But it’s a timesink and my html is still weak so it’s slow going.
I’ve scoured the site and grabbed what I didn’t have.
I just watched this sak and I have to say this guy eats ass. I have played Sabre’s Sak, in real life, 100’s of times and if anyone is even compairing the two they have no idea what they are talking about.
Garbage Sak and all he could do was jab cancel into specials. He has absolutly no grasp of basic footsies or mix up opprotunity.
His sakura would have looked much worse against someone who knew how to fight sakura. Weird lack of actions by his opponent gave him a gameplan where he had none. If I had to guess I would say sakura wasn’t his main character even.
