Okay I’ll try harder. Umm… lets see. I guess some of your colours are kind of washed out try adding some darker tones to create more contrast. But in the case of the hot chick with the black hair it works because the tones in her face are pale and her hair is dark so tis’ a nice contrast.
The black outline around Ryu’s face seems kinda harsh, it looks cool and all but maybe tone it down a bit. Or you could try and do it with just pure colour with no black outlines which might look even better.
And maybe you could try working on top of a coloured surface more often, instead of just pure white. The white ground works for the watercolour style you got going on, but still you should try it. Because whatever colour you lay down first it’ll come through when you colour on top of it which can look awsome.
And lastly your works are all very sketchy. Don’t get me wrong I love the sketchy style, I mean most of my stuff is really loose aswell, but I’d like to see what you can do when you completely finish something.

YEAAAAHHHEEAAHESS! You know I copied and pasted this shit, right? Yeah, the color bg DID seem kinda easier to work w/ cuz I noticed when I did the Sagat and 1st Wakka, I hadda better sense of value(BTW I’m a COMPLETE n00b at value, too). But I don’t understand what you mean by contrast… when my teacher explained it like 4 years ago when i was a sophomore, I got it confused with value and shading, thus, making me avoid coloring altogether. Oh and BTW, DZ, Thanks, you own, and people… crit like THAT from now on.
PS: My bad for doin quick shit, it was only a temporary thing till I got a scanner, it’s just workin on mouse REALLY kills my wrist, and I come out with linear results. I think what I’m sayin is… I suck ass.
Yeah, thanks man, I got sicka bein timed-out on geocities whenever someone wanted to see my shit in a lump-sums, an’ shit. I barely had enough time to work on my zangy in alex’s stance an’ shit. But I managed to do a little bit more. His tricep’s a little bit modded along with the left shoulder. I realized something too… brush is somewhat better than pencil in photoshop. I thought it was just smoother but for some reason, my mouse actually listens to me and goes in the direction I want it to… it’s weird. Anyways, some slightly updated shit, I’ll finish these after I study/finish my final exams. All :lame: .

Man these are drawn relly well. Do you have a tablet yet or are you using a mouse? Sometimes you need to go darker on some of the shadowing. Overall my fav are gief Ryu and Blanka one. Awesome work.
SFMC - Nah, man. I wish I did though. I asked for one for christmas, and looked online for them a couple months back but they ran for like 300 bucks! Am I lookin at the wrong models, or should I get a job? My mediums are my scanner and my mouse.

Hey kandoken, the more I read through this thread the BETTER your getting. The first couple of pics kinda sucked(sorry), but after that yun(amazing) you skills seriously improved. Myfavourites are yun the blanka and geif, they rock.
Hey dont forget when using a pc you can save multiple files. Are you saving beta’s? If not you should, so you can allways go back and experiment/change what ever.

Now I’m tryin to learn howta color and shade. And about the beta images… trust me, this thread’s already flooded enough w/ incomplete garbage, the LAST thing we need is more incomplete Sabas and shite. I’m tryin to complete some work like DZ said earlier, but for some reason, I’m a commitment-phobe. The Yun was a realism experiment on mouse but it killed my wrist. (b00!) I saw a significant difference in your work prior to scanning, and even that work was somewhat unbelievable man, and once you purchased the scanner. All I can do is compliment you, Steve.
