I don’t think of this as podcast over saturation; I think of it as spoiling the fans XD
Ghaleon and nomrah are here to kick of the announcement of Season’s Beatings: Velocity coming October 14-16. We’re going back to MOMO2 this year for one final Season’s before the series moves on from the venue. Nothing shows the transition from running tournaments to running events in better contrast than this!
Phreakazoid is here to tell me all about his role on the hardware modding side of things in the fighting game community. He is probably most well known now for his work on The Link, a removable replacement for the standard Sanwa joystick lever. While the games and players have been getting more and more recognition, Phreakazoid (Clayton) and I agree that modders are still relatively underground. Show them some love on Phreak Mods and SRK Tech Talk.
Not a problem! Glad to have you and Harmon on the show. I’m looking forward to more awesome SB:V news soon : )
ALSO
Fighter X Shooter is coming up soon in Chicago; I personally want to see the videos of the Team War special event once they’re made available. For anyone lucky enough to have time and funds to go, I’ve got something that will make your trip a bit easier on the wallet. Hit me up and I’ll fill you in.
Matthew Gummo, better known as Gummowned (or Bob the Builder; region specific) is on the podcast to talk with me about his role on the hardware modding side of the fighting game community (henceforth known as the FGC). One of Gummowned’s biggest inspirations is Ben Heck. Gummowned is one of the most prolific modders in the scene right now and makes a point of traveling far and wide to do in-person mods. If that doesn’t suit you then he also takes mods by mail!
What better way to end a drought in PowerUp Podcasts than to have some legends of the U.S. Vampire Savior community on to talk about their game! I am very excited to welcome Kajoq, Rithli, Kyle W. and Mighty Mar on to the show. One of the largest roundtable discussions I’ve had and certainly one of the best. It is very obvious that not only these players, but many more, are dedicated to community building and fully exploring VS.
Shout-outs to Osirun and the rest of the PowerUp crew!
I just wanted to let you know that here in Indianapolis we just got done w/ our latest tournament series T3 Full Circle! I just got done updating my YouTube page AKA “The NapTown Fighting Game Network” w/ a ton of new content that includes:
DeeDogg is a team player. That defines, on the whole, what he thinks any member of a team should bring to the table. He has the passion to improve and wants to represent not only for himself but for something bigger than himself. His opinions on what TFA means to him and how both he and his team fit into the mosaic of the FGC are unabashed.
Kiu wants to beat you at Street Fighter IV. There is absolutely no question about that. He wants to roll you up into a little ball and use you as target practice for his Tiger Shots and Sumo Headbutts. I respect Kiu’s ambition and drive to become the best he can be. Just as with his teammate, TFA DeeDogg, TFA Kiu regularly showcases the skills, commitments and camaraderie one can gain when part of a team of like-minded individuals.
